#5As far as I can remember Bovada issues checks from a Canadian bank- at least that's how it was a few years ago.Originally posted by yankees10ok im in the united states and i use bovada as far as the amount i dont have an amount i was just wanting to know how it works thx for the response
Not every US bank has the same policy on how long it takes for them to clear international checks...for some it might take a week for others 21 days. The reason why people say to deposit checks through an ATM machine, is to avoid answering bank teller's questions about the origin of the check. I personally don't have a problem with that, but most people do.
Now as far as the payment goes, get a check if a payout over 1K...for anything less, get a Person to Person money transfer. It will save you a lot of time and you don't have to go through the bank to get your cash.Comment -

#6Also if you have a long standing relationship with a Credit Union, go there first. Their clearing time is usually less than you'd normally see at a bigger bank.

#10That you would have to double check with them.Originally posted by yankees10ok lol now one more ? on the money transfer part it says that the majority of funds in my account balance must be generated via money transfer deposits to be eligible for this method so suppose i deposited say $100 via a prepaid *********** and i won a $1000 could i still do a money transfer ?
you might get a check regardless of the amount, because it would be your first withdrawal.
Call them up and just ask...they should be able to easily answer this type of questionsComment -

#15been in your exact same shoes before OP. bovada cash out and my bank i used was the one in walmart. ive always done cashout by check. just deposit the check into your savings and wait. it usually takes a little bit for them to do a currency convert b/c the check will be coming from an international bank. dont bother the bank about when the funds from the check will be available. it makes them suspicious. just check your statements and when the check shows up on your account, withdraw.Comment -

#16I do miss the payouts from Bodog here in Canada....I would cash out and two or three days later I would have a beautiful cheque in my mailbox....boom, into the bank and automatic cash.
I hated their lines though....

#25ya there is nothing wrong with calling and asking, but the first time i withdrew from bodog i kept going up to the bank like every 2-3 days to see if the check cleared. didnt know it was supposed to take a little bit. thought bodog was scamming me. after checking in on it a few times they started to ask questions.Comment -

yeah that would definitely look suspicious if you'd start checking with them every 2-3 days
I generally just ask them for a printout that has the exact clearing date listedComment -

#33alright i would go ahead and get that out of the way if i were you. in order to get a payout they are going to require you to verify your identity by faxing in a copy of your CC and some personal information. the first time i requested a payout i had no idea about it either. was pissed when i found out i wasnt going to get my check until i sent in the info, which led to me putting the verification process off, and eventually i went through what i had built up.Comment -
