#704Sydney v Adelaide- Sydney hot favorites , but Nicky Carle is out, their best player in my opinion. & apparently Emerton is carrying an injury and might either start on the bench or miss this game. I'll have to see the starting XI. To add spice Kosmina has come back to coach the Reds, seems like an obvious tip .. but ill wait closer to the game tonight.
Spurs v Chelski - have Spurs as favorites, but apparently Bale is in doubt... Draw a big possibiblity, but leaning to Spurs at the moments.
Thoughts guys?? Aussie I see you've already hit up Sydney.Comment -

#705Aussie, am thinking much the same, Syd FC should win this one, despite the new coach factor. Way to quick of a turn around to have any positive effect. I'd expect more of an improvement in the new year. I do not like the odds though, lots of juice and im worried its a sucker bet. I don't think Syd FC will win by more than 1 goal.Originally posted by Aussiecapper101OFFICIAL A-LEAGUE PLAY - THURSDAY NIGHT

I think both teams to score - YES @ 2.05 is pretty tempting, or Over 2.5.

#706I'm not concerned with Carle being out, Cazarine I think will more than make up for that. But it does bother me that this will be a good chance for Sydney to rest Emerton completely or come off early. I had forgotten about it until you mentioned, but he was struggling a little wasnt he end of last match?Originally posted by PudaSydney v Adelaide- Sydney hot favorites , but Nicky Carle is out, their best player in my opinion. & apparently Emerton is carrying an injury and might either start on the bench or miss this game. I am seriously considering Adelaide +1 @ 2.05 , but will prob wait for lineups.Comment -

Draw is always a possibilty with these guys though, it will be a BIG match. IMO it's great value for spurs at home, even up against Chelsea.

#710Sydney have depth IMO and players probly hungry to prove themselves and this trip for Adelaide would just be mighty depressing before xmas and all. I do agree that the chances of Sydney winning are high but for them to win by more than 1 goal is hard to see right now.. what makes you like adelaide in this spot may I ask? I'm not being sarcastic or trying to talk you out of taking them cos I'd be the first to admit that my A-league capping hasnt been top class of late, its just I'd like to know what excites you about them tonightOriginally posted by MatII'm not concerned with Carle being out, Cazarine I think will more than make up for that. #711I am in two minds on this game. I really can't decide! I should take it as a sign to just stay away.
I was originally thinking Sydney FC all the way. I think they have been under-rated so far this year.
It is not really what I like about Adelaide, but more what i DON'T like about Sydney: No Carle, and I have a feeling Emerton will either not be used in this game or rested early. Maybe i am thinking this through too much, but the odds for the WIN @ 1.63 seem like waaaay too much juice for a Syd FC team that havent put back to back wins together for over a month.
Thoughts?

#712Sydney might win, but i dont see value. I think adelaide is worth a try.
here's my take.
Adelaide has not won in 5 games, they will be more desperate for the win.
They have a good squad, and were tipped as one of the favorites, so they are better than they have been.
This will be the first game under their new coach. Teams are know to turn around instantly when they get a new coach, for example look at sunderland.
They will try to impress the new coach.
Adelaide has beaten sydney 4 out of the 6 last games, twice in sydney.
Sydney fc are inconsistent and have only won back to back once this year, against in my opinion the worst teams.
No Carle means no play maker. When brisbane lost their play maker , and teams were paying $8 - $10 to beat them, we know what happened.
Only thing in Sydneys favor is it's a home game and if it rains, they are better in rain.Comment -

Jon McKain (suspended – 1 match), Sergio van Dijk (hip flexor) Big loses for Reds.
I think Sydney will win.. but odds are average.. might have to take the -1 for any value.Comment -

Also just read Emerton is in for this game. I still expect him to come off early.
Also, it has been raining in Sydney all morning. Pissing down apparently.Comment -

#717Small plays again.
Sydney/Reds - Under 2.5 & Spurs/Chelski Draw - don't play totals often.. but ML sucks, I suspect with Carle out Sydney will struggle, but should still win 1-0, 2-0. Hopefully it continues to rain as well.
Spurs/Chelski Draw - not convinced of Spurs can beat Chelski... 1-1, 2-2.

#721Looks like everybody is on the under for tonight's game. Im leaning towards the over. For some strange reason i think it might finish a 2-2 or 3-2 to sydney but i really dont want to bet on the over as the under has got me once too many this season in the a-league.Do i go with my gut feeling or follow the board

#722To be honest, my hunch is in agreement with you. I think there will be atleast 2 goals in this game. #735it was 1-0 when a penalty should have been given to adelaide possibly making it 2-0 ..... then its a new game.
He gave a penalty to sydney (which is fair enough if he was being consistent) that put them back in it, they were being out played until then.
He will probably give a red card to an adelaide player too. That sydney player pulled the shit out of ramseys jersey, but only ramsey got a card for his reaction.Comment
