RPL Preview: Moscow Cancels Russian Premier League Fixtures This Weekend
Both Spartak v Zenit and Dynamo v CSKA have been postponed...


The Round 16 fixtures due to be held in Moscow this weekend have been re-scheduled by the Russian Premier League as the result of health precautions due to heavy smoke covering the city.

Consequently the games between Spartak Moscow and Zenit St. Petersburg and the capital derby between Dynamo Moscow and CSKA Moscow will be moved to a later date.

The postponements have come as a result of the thick smog that has covered the Russian capital from forest fires, threatening the health of fans and players.

Due to no indications of the weather improving the situation, the RFPL have decided not to put the health and safety of everybody involved in the fixtures at risk.

RFPL President Sergei Pryadkin made a statement to Soviet Sport to confirm that the fixtures will not take place.

"The decision was made after we took all data into account. We monitored the weather conditions and forecast and we were told the situation will only worsen. We have no right to put spectators at risk and so we came to this agreement with the RFU. We will announce later the new dates the games will take place, "said Pryadkin.

Friday evening FC Rostov recorded a victory a 1-0 over Terek to move into fifth place in the league thanks to a well taken volley by Aleksandr Pavlenko. Both Rubin Kazan and Spartak Nalchik will have the opportunity to move into second and third respectively due to the postponed fixtures. Rubin host Siberian side Tomsk and Nalchik play Alania.

Odds on under are a bit short .If you bet all of them under you will only break even (i think).
