Malatyaspor is eliminated from moving on in this competition, but look to be fielding a fairly strong side still as they hope to show the upper tier team that they can compete with them. Ankaragucu is fielding mostly the same side as their last Cup squad as they search for the full three points to advance today. A draw will not do. Malatyaspor has conceding in all three group matches, while Ankaragucu have scored and conceded in all three of theirs. At home, Malatyaspor is certainly capable of scoring if they truly are out today for pride. I expect Ankaragucu will try to pressure from the outset to make sure there is no question about getting the win today. With neither having kept a clean sheet, it looks decent for both to score and obviously then Ankaragucu would need more to secure the win.

Third place match. This should be entertaining. Uzbekistan's backline was exposed by Australia and South Korea certainly has the skill players to take advantage. The Koreans also have tended to give up goals. Expecting an open affair with both sides pushing forward and not worrying much about the outcome.

Good splits here home/road form. Zuite-Waregem has only been kept off the score sheet at home in one of their 12 home matches this season. They have multiple strikes in three of their last four at home. Genk has only been held scoreless once in 12 matches on the road. They have just two clean sheets in their last nine on the road. First meeting was 3-0 Genk at home in September. On the re-boot from the break, both teams have been giving up goals still. Waregem has conceded six in a friendly and a league match. Genk has conceded in three straight in 2011 and scored in each.

Team Wellington has seen seven straight matches hit for at least three goals in league play. Waikato FC has seen eight of their ten Premiership matches go to at least three goals this season. At home, Waikato FC has scored eleven and conceded eleven in six matches. All but one have seen three goals. They have two clean sheets at home. On the road, Wellington have been a scoring machine after being blanked in their first roadie, they have reeled off eleven goals in four matches. They have conceded multiple goals in three of five and have one clean sheet. Since returning from the break, they have scored and conceded in each of three matches with six goals scored and five conceded. Waikato FC have scored in each of their three matches and have given up seven goals in their last two combined. Waikaito FC is the 2nd worst defense, while Wellington ranks 2nd in goals scored. PLAY #220: [ENGLAND FA CUP] ASTON VILLA-BLACKBURN OVER 2.5 [-114]
Villa has found some form in 2011 with three wins and a draw in their last four overall matches. Their attack should find room against a Blackburn squad that has been crushed on the road routinely. The Rovers have conceded multiple goals in six of their eight road matches. Blackburn has adopted a more open style of play since Allardyce was sacked, so this should be a nice attacking match.

PLAY #221: [ASIAN CUP] AUSTRALIA PK [-104]
Once again, I am going to side with defense and goal tending over offense. Australia has still conceded just one goal this entire tournament and their goal keeping has been stellar when called upon. Japan certainly has the weaponry to trouble the Socceroos, but they will be missed a key midfielder in Kagawa. Their defense has been somewhat leaky in this competition with goals allowed in all but one of their five matches. The match against South Korea showed this deficiency again as they allowed the late goal in extra time that left it up to penalties. If the Aussies jump on top first, I think it's going to be tough for the Japanese to win this match as they will be forced to attack even more, leaving themselves prone to the counter attack. Australia will take heart that if they do happen to fall behind, Japan has shown a propensity lately to allow their opponents back in it. I think if the Socceroos play as well as they have in recent matches, the worst case here is a draw at the end of 90 minutes and a push on the PK line.

Well a nice no muss or fuss win in the FA Cup match. Aussies and Japanese were 0-0 after 90 minutes, so a push there which is fine as that was the worst I expected. Might have one for the afternoon, looking over it now.

Lille have been in a solid run of form to start 2011 as they remain at the top of Ligue 1. They have scored five goals in two league matches, while recording two straight clean sheets. Lens though has also been solid with two home wins, scoring two goals in each and yielding just one goal. On the season, Lille have been explosive on offense at home with multiple tallies in five of their last seven. They have just two clean sheets in their last eight at home. Lens on the road have conceded in eight straight with multiple strikes allowed in five of eight, including three straight. They have also scored in all but two of their nine road matches. Lille seems to be clicking - especially Gervinho, so I expect them to come out strong and put up some goals. If Lens scores, this should be a very good shot to go over.
