It's a battle of relegation candidates between Necaxa and Atlas this evening. To start off the year though, Atlas are certainly the team that looks more likely to survive. They won both their matches at home, showing an offensive flare with their new signings as they have seven goals in those two matches. Necaxa meanwhile have not found the back of the net in their two 2011 matches and have lost seven of their last eight matches dating back to last season. They also dropped their last four home matches.

PLAY #206: [ASIAN CUP] IRAN-SOUTH KOREA OVER 2 [-108]
Should be a great QF match-up here. South Korea scored and conceded in each of their three group stage matches, including yielding a goal to India. Iran found ways to score no matter what in their group stage matches as well. These two sides are well organized and know how to attack. Not over analyzing here. I think both score and a solid shot that at least one of them scores twice.

PLAY #207: [SPAIN LA LIGA] BARCELONA-RACING SANTANDER OVER 4 [+113]
Big total here, but would you really want to bet against goals with Barca in their current form? Not me. They have scored four goals or more by themselves in six of their last eight overall. Barca won the road meeting between the two, 3-0 earlier in the season. Santander will be without their Captain, a key offensive weapon from them so it's likely that Barca will need to do all the work for this one to win although the home side has let in a goal in each of their two home matches in the New Year. Santander has scored in four of their last five road matches and I think a goal from the road club would solidify this as a winner.

Central Coast has been in solid scoring form since returning in the New Year with seven goals in their last three matches, while conceding in all three. Sydney has also been solid with five goals in three matches in 2011. On the road, Sydney has had problems scoring this season, but broke a four match goal-less streak on the road with two in their first match of 2011. Central Coast crushed Sydney 4-0 at home in early December, so I don't think they will have problems netting a couple goals today. If Sydney can crack the scoresheet, this looks like a good shot.

If this one fails to produce goals, I'll lose my faith. Inter has been absolutely awesome under Leonardo as far as scoring goals. Inter has netted 15 goals in their last five competitive matches of 2011 and is playing a pretty, free flowing game. They have also conceded in each game which should hold Udinese a shot to add to the tally. Udinese has also been solid scoring in 2011 with 12 goals in four matches. Udinese has been very good at home offensively with multiple tallies in five of their last six Serie A matches. Inter won the first meeting in September at home, 2-1.

Bolton has only failed to take points once in ten home matches this season in EPL play, while Chelsea are on a run where they have failed to take full points on the road in six straight and eight of their last nine on the road. Chelsea will be without Lampard for sure as he did not make the trip. Bolton is a drastically different club home vs. road and I think they get a result today. Worst case maybe losing by a goal and a half stakes loss.

PLAY #212: [ASIAN CUP] JAPAN-SOUTH KOREA OVER 2 [+104]
I simply won't go against the attacking quality Japan has shown during this competition. The late rally against Qatar was absolutely brilliant, when down a man. They've scored in each match, but also been loose enough to concede in all but the match against the Saudis. South Korea certainly can negate the Japanese skill as they did against a quality Iranian side, but there is enough brilliance offensively here to score. Japan's defensive issues against Qatar should also leave the Koreans thinking they can score here. These two teams played a dull 0-0 draw in a friendly in October, but this should have some flavor to it with a trip to the Championship up for grabs. Figure this goes one of two ways ... either both sides are afraid to concede or they go after it and let it all hang out. Given Japan's performance here, I am trying the latter.

Subscribing to the better defensive team theory here. The Aussies have conceded just once in four matches and goalie Max Schwarzer has been outstanding. The Uzbekis have conceded five goals in their last three matches here. I just like the experience, defense and toughness of the Aussies here. They'll continue to pound their possession right down the middle of the field and I think they can expose the Uzbeki D. They are battled tested against better competition and I think they'll finish off Cinderella today.

PLAY #214: [ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIP] PORTSMOUTH-BURNLEY OVER 2.5 [-110]
Portsmouth has scored and conceded in nine straight home matches in Championship play. They have tallied multiple goals in seven of those and conceded multiple goals in four of those last nine. Burnley have been struggling to find goals, having been shut out in two straight. On the road, they have managed a goal in eight of 12 over the course of the season. They have just two clean sheets. Looks reasonable that both could score here with multiple tallies given Portsmouth's propensity to attract goals at home, a definite possibility.

Last match of the group stages for both clubs. Trabzonspor would be okay with a draw here as it would guarantee their qualification, but a win would leave no doubt and see them through at the top of this group. Besiktas likely needs a win to move on as they sit 2nd, just a point ahead of Gazientep BB who play the bottom team in this group today. Good test for the new look offensive-minded Besiktas squad whose new signees have provided a powerful punch with ten goals in three matches in 2011. They have conceded in each. Trabzonspor has scored and conceded in each group stage match. Besiktas has six goals in their last two group stage matches after losing 1-0 in their opener. Playing at home and looking for three points against the team they are also chasing at the top of the table in the regular season, I look for Besiktas to go all out. Both teams have quality attacks and have shown some defensive lapses ... so goals could be on the menu.

Rangers have mutiple goals in eight of ten road games in the Scottish Premier League and just one clean sheet. That should help a Hibernian team that is scoreless in three straight. Hibernian have just one clean sheet at home. Both meetings this season have been 3-0 finals for the VISITORS.
