        SUNDAY DRAW PROJECT

        ST.JOHNSTONE-INVERNESS +205
        WIGAN-NEWCASTLE +215

Usual hope here, split & profit. In Scotland, Inverness is one of the oddest teams in the league. Horrible at home, but unbeaten on the road with five wins and four draws. They face St.Johnstone on the road where STJ has two wins and five losses. STJ has not scored in their last three at home, but Inverness has not kept a clean sheet since early October. Wigan has been solid at home lately with an unbeaten streak of six matches that includes four draws in their last five. Newcastle is scuffling with losses in three of their last four in the EPL. Still, Wigan hasn't shown the ability to take full points enough here. Newcastle's top scorer is out, but they need points desperately.

It's a small loss after 50 plays. It was in the black for a long time, but it missed a bit the last month. Considering that's 30% win rate and barely down, the project isn't bad in the long run. If you can get draws correct 35-40% of the time, I think you win money.

I don't only pick draws. My record for plays other than draws is on the last page. Some days I pick two draws with the whole point being trying to go 1-1 to gain a profit on those picks. Tough break in Scotland. Looked like a solid draw, but St.Johnstone scores in the 85th minute. Hopefully Wigan can come back and knot this EPL match up and get the split.

                      PLAY #163: [SCOTLAND PREMIER] ST.MIRREN-KILMARNOCK OVER 2/2.5 [-110]
Kilmarnock has been solid scoring of late with multiple goals in seven of their last nine. On the road, all but one of their nine matches has hit at least two goals with seven of those eight hitting for three or more. St.Mirren have conceded multiple goals at home in half of their ten matches. They have only failed to score at home, twice. When they met last September, the final was 2-1 Kilmarnock. So long as St.Mirren can get on the board, I think this can clear the number today and hit for at least three.

Same boat in Scotland. Looking like no chance to even get the half stakes back on a two goal total.

Outsmarting myself lately. Liked Kilmarnock to win this morning, but switched to the total. At least they snagged two goals and got me some money back. Bleh.

Play #164: [SPAIN LA LIGA] ATLETICO MADRID -1 [+116]
Both Atletico Madrid & their opponents, Racing Santander, ended 2010 on upward swings. Atletico won two straight to stay within shouting distance of 3rd place, while Santander grabed its first road win at Mallorca and then drew at home. Atletico has lost just twice in eight La Liga matches [Barca/Espanyol]. Of their five home wins, four have come by more than one goal. Santander has gained points in just two of their eight road matches. Four of their losses have come by multiple goals. Forlan is probably still out with an ankle injury, but Atletico Madrid still has Aguero in great goal scoring form. The biggest plus to end the year for Atletico Madrid was two consecutive clean sheets after some very shaky defense. At home, they do have five clean sheets this season. Atletico is still well within striking distance of the top four and a Champions League qualifying spot ... so they need the points.

Two teams with relegation concerns meet today at Fulham. Like the chance for some goals today in spite of some spotty form for each. West Brom have injury concerns along the backline which could help out a Fulham side that has not had a potent offense this season. At home though, they have scored in seven of nine and conceded in six of nine. The Cottagers have seen eight of their ten home matches this season hit for at least two goals. West Brom have been porous on defense away from home, so the injury shuffle will only further those woes. They have conceded multiple goals on the road in seven of ten and have given up the 2nd most away goals in the EPL. West Brom has scored at least once in five of their last eight on the road and five of their last six overall.

Villa comes into this one of their scintillating 3-3 draw with Chelsea that saw the Villagers give up two goals in the final ten minutes and then rally with a 90th minute score for the draw. Villa's main problem of late has been defense. They have leaked in 13 goals in their last five matches overall. At home, Villa has allowed multiple goals in four of their last five with eleven being scored against them. The good news is the offense has kept pace in that stretch with ten goals, multiple tallies in four of five. For Sunderland, they have been hit & miss on the road. The Black Cats have failed to score in their last two on the road, but had struck for at least one goal in five of the previous six roadies before that. They have conceded in six of nine on the road. Sunderland does rank 2nd in clean sheets in the EPL, but that figures to be put to the rest with Villa having seen at least three goals in nine of their last ten overall.

PLAY #167: [COPA DEL REY] ATHLETIC BILBAO-BARCELONA OVER 3 [-134]
Lineups are out and after the scoreless draw at Camp Nau in the 1st leg, Barcelona is not f-ing around. All the big boys are in, including Messi and Villa. Bilbao has done well from an offensive perspective at home this season with at least one goal in all ten of the home matches played in both La Liga and Copa Del Rey matches. Barca before the scoreless draw in the 1st leg had scored multiple goals in ten straight overall. On the road in all competitions, they have scored three or more in five straight and multiple tallies in 10 of their last 13. I expect Bilbao will try and defend quite a bit again, but neither team has the luxury of sitting back with a goal needed to determine a winner. An early Barca goal would open this match up greatly. Look for a fresh Lionel Messi to make a big difference today.

Scoreless 1st halves drive me insane. Gotta get an early 2nd half goal by someone to open up play in that Villa & Sunderland match or it's going to wind up being a lifeless draw I think.

Juventus has scored and conceded in all but one of their eight home matches this season. So it is no surprise that Juve have the most home goals scored and conceded. Parma has struggled to stop opponents on the road with eleven goals allowed in their last five in Serie A play. They have allowed multiple goals in five of their eight away clashes, but have managed to score in all but two of those.

Catania has stepped up at times on the road to snatch a point, notable against Lazio, Sampdoria and Milan. Still, they have gone without a goal in four of their last six on the road. Roma should win at home, but the chalk is high for this and the handicap at -1 doesn't offer much to me since Roma has a knack for not always winning big it seems. Will take a shot on the under here that Roma keeps a clean sheet and scores a 1-0 or 2-0 type win.
