The Germans are a very unique people with a very unique mindset. Every German that I've met, and I'm talking about the Germans that I've met while in Germany, who were born in Germany and have lived in Germany for their entire lives, they all have this attitude that is geared towards order, efficiency and adherence to following a system. Germans will wait till the light turns green to cross the road even though there isn't a car in sight. There's a reason why a country of 80 million people has the world's 4th largest economy and 2nd highest exports. They are a machine. Motivation won't be the issue here. Against Uruguay, you'll see the same German team that you saw against the Spaniards, which will be enough for a German win.

I've heard the same from the Germans I have known. Their education system also adds to their productivity.

However, I have also heard that there is great emphasis against nationalist sentiment after the war. The term "Deutschland über alles" (Germany above all) has been disparaged as being related to the Nazi movement even though it originally had nothing to do with that.

It's good to hear the Germans are still showing some pride in their sports teams.

Even though Uruguay lost, Forlan was performing fantastic. I believe Forlan performed far better than any player in World Cup, even better than Messi and any talented player. I hope Chelsea acquires Forlan and Torres.
