No doubt about it in my mind. The Japanese have shown some good skill so far and while Paraguay will be favorites I really think Japan will send them home. The speed that Japan has will cause problems for Paraguay's midfield. Should be a good game but im backing the japanese to advance.

Totally agree with the point made in the first post. Japan's counter attacking speed is amazing. Honda has been exceptional so far. I think this match in general is going to be under rated in how good it is going to be between two quality sides not a lot of people know about.

Anyone who is on Paraguay, make your argument .... all I've seen is they are "a better team." Why do you think so? They had one dominant game in the group stages against Slovakia. They did what they needed to do against Italy, but we all know that Italy was not a great team and the draw against New Zealand, I understand maybe they held back, but it's still a pretty lacking result at 0-0. Japan looked solid in all three of their matches and has given The Netherlands their best match to-date. For me, Paraguay is at a slight disadvantage because they have yet to play a team with the speed and counter attack of Japan.

Paraguay, playing very southamerican, will suite Japans tactical and static style very bad. Dont get fooled by Paraguays performance against New Zeeland. They got their point and they won the group. Japan is very systematic in regards of soccer playing, team's full of marksmen when free shots come to play and all those plays have been thoroughly practiced over and over, nevertheless, when it comes to moving the ball in a small area, Japan lacks and that individualism I spoke of yesterday referring Argentina.

Paraguay has that kind of offensive soccer we all like to watch, I'm pretty sure they'll put up a good game the south american style!
