No doubt about it in my mind. The Japanese have shown some good skill so far and while Paraguay will be favorites I really think Japan will send them home. The speed that Japan has will cause problems for Paraguay's midfield. Should be a good game but im backing the japanese to advance.

#3agree, Japan look like a solid team, strong in the back, comfortable on the ball, and have an absolute class act in Honda in attack, im tipping Japan to edge it as wellForward points to Karayilan, i am unable to receive SBR pointsComment -

#5The Japanese coach was not fukking around when he said their goal is the semi-final... they've totally outplayed every team in this WC, they only lost to Netherlands 1-0 because of a keeper fuk up.Comment -

#6yh when i heard that comment i though semis may be a long shot, they looked good vs England in the pre torni friendly and they have a good shot at making the quarters,
i think i shows some really impressive progress from Asia, both Korea and Japan through , more importantly done with native managers, good to see the far east making solid progressForward points to Karayilan, i am unable to receive SBR pointsComment -

Jimmy this is the tourney of surprises. Paraguay are getting worse with each match and Japan are getting better. One of those 2 asian teams will advance and for your sake you better hope its Japan if its only 1.Comment -

#8Japan have done well to qualify from their group. This is the farthest they have ever gone in a major soccer tournament outside Japan, - but they will find it very difficult to progress further, despite their two major stars.Comment -

#11Japan hasn't even played their bench players yet, some of which are great young talents, Morimoto is said to be one of the best young players in Serie A and hasn't even played yet.
Japan v Paraguay will be a good game, both have surprised, Paraguay is a good team aswell with top class strikers, I mean Oscar Cordozo doesn't even get to start! that shows the strength of talent they have upfront.
I think Japan has a serious chance, if they are priced as big dogs like they have been all tournament the value will be on them.Comment -

#13yeah you are probably right here. Japan is very weak physically though, they are fast, but they will not get anything inside the box against Paraguay's D. They're going to need to play like they did today and take opportunities from outside the box, they won't score in the box unless its on the counter.Originally posted by lakerboy

#14on the other hand paraguay won't get any joy against japan if they play like they did against NZ.
they probably had one eye in the next match already but that was still a disappointing outing from themComment -

#22Let's not forget about their skills on set pieces. Not many teams have even come close to scoring on them, but the japs are proving to us that it is indeed possible - even with this somewhat difficult ball to control
Edit: Willforth
I didn't see you already commenting on them being good on free kicks.

#23I will back the Japanese I played my Future on them to make it out of Group Play and now I will play them against Parguay. The Koreans and Japanese both have shots to move onto the Quarterfinals and represent the Asian Football world.
The entire world knows who Keisuke Honda is now the famous CSKA MOSCOW striker. The Asians sets there goals high and want to prove they belongComment -

#30I think this is a ridiculous comment myself. Paraguay didn't need to play well today. They just needed a draw and they got it, while not converting on numerous opportunities. Japan played a pitiful Denmark team today, and converted off of POOR defense. You guys will lose your money if you take Japan, I would almost guarantee it.Comment -

I'll represent all the comments above and take your bet for 50 pts just because I think you're kinda cocky. Hell... I hope the game will tie and go into PKs because those Japanese players will win (after the way they scored their free kicks today) LOL
I'll send you 50 pts right now. Please remind me if I win cuz I may forget... somebody... and you will get 10 pts just for reminding.
