    Flat or Curved 34" Monitor?

    Anyone use a curved monitor?

Is it worth the extra $90 here?

Don’t know anyone who has a curved T.V or monitor.

With curved TVs, if you sit off-center or don't turn off enough lights, you're in for a bad time. The further you sit to one side or the other, the more the picture will appear to bend. Room lights in the wrong places can ruin your experience completely, since a curved screen picks up a lot of glare.

I would imagine the monitor over 30 inches would have similar situation.

Got this one about 6 months ago on Prime Day.

LG UltraGear QHD 34-Inch Curved Gaming Monitor 34GP63A-B, VA with HDR 10 Compatibility and AMD FreeSync Premium, 160Hz, Black

Almost the same as your 1st one. Got it for $299 on Prime Day ($359 now) it is awesome. Great for multi-tabling poker as well.

Wait until black Friday and they will all go about 25 to 33% cheaper. Or Cyber Monday 3 days later.

Note: These LG models are not a true curve just about half so they're perfect. You won't regret it.

I use flat. I have a double monitor set up so it is easier to have flat and place them at a skew facing at a 150 degree angle.

Those prices are Australian $. US$ is about 2/3 of those numbers.

But the UltaGear 34" models are between AU$550 and $1100, depending on res and refresh rate, and I don't want to spend that much on a general purpose monitor. I don't game. Just replacing two Dell monitors.

Any downside to the curved display?

O wow. Hey those stands that come with it are nice but they take up a lot of desk space. I added this monitor arm for mine. The Black one (Grey and white are different.)

WALI Single Monitor Gas Spring Desk Mount, Heavy Duty Monitor Arm for Ultrawide Screen up to 35 inch, 33 lbs. Fully Adjustable, Mounting Holes 75 and 100 (GSM001XL), Black

    Thanks.

I've got a huge desk with 3 feet from front edge to the wall. Hopefully won't need the arm.

It will be on a desk right in front of me about 14" from eyes. I'm thinking curved might mean less head movement to see either side.
