by Wayne PerrymanWayne Perryman, an inner city minister in Seattle and the author of Unfounded Loyalty, in an editorial circulating on the Internet (Feb. 2004):
Most people are either a Democrat by design, or a Democrat by deception. That is either they were well aware the racist history of the Democrat Party and still chose to be Democrat, or they were deceived into thinking that the Democratic Party is a party that sincerely cared about Black people.
History reveals that every piece of racist legislation that was ever passed and every racist terrorist attack that was ever inflicted on African Americans, was initiated by the members of the Democratic Party. From the formation of the Democratic Party in 1792 to the Civil Rights movement of 1960's, Congressional records show the Democrat Party passed no specific laws to help Blacks, every law that they introduced into Congress was designed to hurt blacks in 1894 Repeal Act. The chronicles of history shows that during the past 160 years the Democratic Party legislated Jim Crows laws, Black Codes and a multitude of other laws at the state and federal level to deny African Americans their rights as citizens.
History reveals that the Republican Party was formed in 1854 to abolish slavery and challenge other racist legislative acts initiated by the Democratic Party.
Some called it the Civil War, others called it the War Between the States, but to the African Americans at that time, it was the War Between the Democrats and the Republicans over slavery. The Democrats gave their lives to expand it, Republican gave their lives to ban it.
During the Senate debates on the Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871, it was revealed that members of the Democratic Party formed many terrorist organizations like the Ku Klux Klan to murder and intimidate African Americans voters. The Ku Klux Klan Act was a bill introduced by a Republican Congress to stop Klan Activities. Senate debates revealed that the Klan was the terrorist arm of the Democratic Party.
History reveals that Democrats lynched, burned, mutilated and murdered thousands of blacks and completely destroyed entire towns and communities occupied by middle class Blacks, including Rosewood, Florida, the Greenwood District in Tulsa Oklahoma, and Wilmington, North Carolina to name a few.
After the Civil War, Democrats murdered several hundred black elected officials (in the South) to regain control of the southern government. All of the elected officials up to 1935 were Republicans. As of 2004, the Democrat Party (the oldest political party in America) has never elected a black man to the United States Senate, the Republicans have elected three.
History reveals that it was Thaddeus Stevens, a Radical Republican that introduced legislation to give African Americans the so-called 40 acres and a mule and Democrats overwhelmingly voted against the bill. Today many white Democrats are opposed to paying African Americans trillions of dollars in Reparation Pay, money that should be paid by the Democratic Party.
History reveals that it was Abolitionists and Radical Republicans such as Henry L. Morehouse and General Oliver Howard that started many of the traditional Black colleges, while Democrats fought to keep them closed. Many of our traditional Black colleges are named after white Republicans.
Congressional records show it was Democrats that strongly opposed the passage of the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments. These three Amendments were introduced by Republicans to abolish slavery, give citizenship to all African Americans born in the United States and, give Blacks the right to vote.
Congressional records show that Democrats were opposed to passing the following laws that were introduced by Republicans to achieve civil rights for African Americans:
    Civil Rights Act 1866
    Reconstruction Act of 1867
Freedman Bureau Extension Act of 1866
    Enforcement Act of 1870
    Force Act of 1871
Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871
    Civil Rights Act of 1875
    Civil Rights Act of 1957
    Civil Rights Act of 1960
And during the 60's many Democrats fought hard to defeat the
    1964 Civil Rights Act
    1965 Voting Rights Acts
    1972 Equal Employment Opportunity Act

Court records shows that it was the Democrats that supported the Dred Scott Decision. The decision classified Blacks and property rather than people. It was also the racist Jim Crow practices initiated by Democrats that brought about the two landmark cases of Plessy v Ferguson and Brown v. The Board of Education.
At the turn of the century (1900), Southern Democrats continued to oppress African Americans by placing thousands in hard-core prison labor camps. According to most historians, the prison camps were far worst than slavery. The prisoners were required to work from 10-14 hours a day, six to seven days a week in temperatures that exceeded 100 degrees and in temperatures that fell well below zero. The camps provided free labor for building railroads, mining coal-mines and for draining snake and alligator invested swamps and rivers. Blacks were transported from one project to another in rolling cages similar to the ones used to transfer circus animals. One fourth of the prison populations were children ages 6 to 18. Young Cy Williams age 12, was sentenced to 20 years for stealing a horse that he was too small to ride. Eight-year old Will Evans was sentenced to 2 years of hard labor for taking some change from a store counter and six-year old Mary Gay was sentenced to 30 days for taking a hat. While authorities sent whites to jail for the same offenses, they sent blacks to the prison camps with much longer sentences. Thousands died from malaria, frost bites, heat strokes, shackle poisoning, others were buried alive in collapsing mines, or blown to pieces in tunnel explosions, and still others drowned in swamps or were beaten and shot to death. Every southern black citizen was a potential prisoner for any alleged small offense, including violating evening curfews. Through the prison camp system, southern owners of railroads, mines and farms had an unlimited source of free labor. The black prisoners played a major role the South's economic development. Bryan Stevenson of the Equal Justice Initiative, said, in his opinion, "the prison camps were a new form of slavery, but far more inhumane."
History reveals that it was three white persons that opposed the Democrat's racist practices who started the NAACP. Dr. Martin Luther King, several Civil Rights leaders and many historians reported that during the first two years of his administration, President John F. Kennedy ignored Dr. King's request for Civil Rights. The chronicles of history reveal that it was only after television coverage of riots and several demonstrations did President Kennedy feel a need to introduce the 1963 Civil Rights Act. At that time, experts believe the nation was headed toward a major race war.
History reveals that it was Democratic Attorney General, Robert Kennedy that approved the secret wire taps on Dr, Martin Luther King Jr., and it was Democratic President Lyndon Johnson that referred to Dr. King as " that ****** preacher." Senator Byrd referred to Dr. King as a "trouble maker" who causes trouble and then runs like a "coward," when trouble breaks out.
Over the strong objections of racist Republican Senator Jessie Helms, Republican President Ronald Reagan, signed into law, a bill to make Dr. Martin Luther King's birthday a national holiday. Several Republican Senators convinced President Reagan this was the right thing to do.
Congressional records show after signing the 1972 Equal Employment Opportunity Act and issuing Executive Order 11478, Richard Nixon, a Republican, that started what we know as Affirmative Action.
On December 15, 1994, federal Judge David V. Kenyon issued a court order to the Clinton Administration in the Case of Fairchild v Robert Reich Secretary of Labor (#CV92-5765 Kn). The order demanded that Secretary Reich and the Clinton Administration force 100 west coast shipping to develop an Affirmative Action plan to stop discrimination against, African Americans, Hispanics, Female and Disabled Workers. Female employees were being sexually harrassed, Hispanic were being denied promotions and training, Disable Workers were being laid off, and African Americans were being force to work in an environment where they had job classification called " ****** Jobs." Clinton left office six years later and never complied with the court order. The companies still do not have an Affirmative Action Plan.
President Clinton sent 20, 000 troops to protect the white citizens of Europe's Bosnia, but sent no troops to Africa's Rwanda to protect the black citizens there. Consequently over 800,000 Africans were massacre. During the 2003 Democratic Primary debates, the Rev. Al Sharpton, said the Democrat take the black vote for granted and treat African American like a mistress. They [Democrats} will take us to the dance, but they don't want to take us home to meet mama."
On December 3, 2002, President Clinton spoke to Democratic Leadership Council in New York regarding the future of the Democratic Party and how they could retake the White House. At no time did he address Civil Rights issues for blacks or doing things to improve the conditions of African Americans. His only reference to Civil Rights was Civil Rights for Gays. His only reference to improving communities was his recommendation to revisit the Marshall Plan to re-build communities in other countries. His entire speech was aired on C-Span.
After exclusively giving the Democrats their votes for the past 25 years, the average African American cannot point to one piece of civil rights legislation sponsored solely by the Democratic Party that was specifically designed to eradicate the unique problems that African Americans face today. Congressional records show that all previous legislation (since 1964) had strong bi-partisan support, even though some Democrats debated and voted against these laws.
After reviewing all of the evidence, many believe America would have never experienced racism to the degree that it has, had not the Democrats promoted it through:
    Racist Legislation
    Terrorist Organizations
    Negative Media Communications
    Bias Education
    Relentless Intimidation
    And Flawed Adjudication.
The racism established and promoted by members of the Democratic Party affected and infected the entire nation from 1856 with the Dred Scott decision, to the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education case. But they never offered or issued an apology.

Today both parties must remember their past. The Democrats must remember the terrible things they did to Blacks and apologize and the Republicans must remember the terrific things they did for Blacks and re-commit to complete the work that their predecessors started and died for.

A Short History of Democrats, Republicans, and Racism

The following are a few basic historical facts that every American should know.
Fact: The Republican Party was founded primarily to oppose slavery, and Republicans eventually abolished slavery. The Democratic Party fought them and tried to maintain and expand slavery. The 13th Amendment, abolishing slavery, passed in 1865 with 100% Republican support but only 23% Democrat support in congress.
Why is this indisputable fact so rarely mentioned? PBS documentaries about slavery and the Civil War barely mention it, for example. One can certainly argue that the parties have changed in 150 years (more about that below), but that does not change the historical fact that it was the Democrats who supported slavery and the Republicans who opposed it. And that indisputable fact should not be airbrushed out for fear that it will tarnish the modern Democratic Party.
Had the positions of the parties been the opposite, and the Democrats had fought the Republicans to end slavery, the historical party roles would no doubt be repeated incessantly in these documentaries. Funny how that works.
Fact: During the Civil War era, the "Radical Republicans" were given that name because they wanted to not only end slavery but also to endow the freed slaves with full citizenship, equality, and rights.
Yes, that was indeed a radical idea at the time!
Fact: Lincoln's Vice President, Andrew Johnson, was a strongly pro-Union (but also pro-slavery) Democrat who had been chosen by Lincoln as a compromise running mate to attract Democrats. After Lincoln was assassinated, Johnson thwarted Republican efforts in Congress to recognize the civil rights of the freed slaves, and Southern Democrats continued to thwart any such efforts for close to a century.
Fact: The 14th Amendment, giving full citizenship to freed slaves, passed in 1868 with 94% Republican support and 0% Democrat support in congress. The 15th Amendment, giving freed slaves the right to vote, passed in 1870 with 100% Republican support and 0% Democrat support in congress.
Regardless of what has happened since then, shouldn't we be grateful to the Republicans for these Amendments to the Constitution? And shouldn't we remember which party stood for freedom and which party fiercely opposed it?
Fact: The Ku Klux Klan was originally and primarily an arm of the Southern Democratic Party. Its mission was to terrorize freed slaves and "ni**er-loving" (their words) Republicans who sympathized with them.
Why is this fact conveniently omitted in so many popular histories and depictions of the KKK, including PBS documentaries? Had the KKK been founded by Republicans, that fact would no doubt be repeated constantly on those shows.
Fact: In the 1950s, President Eisenhower, a Republican, integrated the US military and promoted civil rights for minorities. Eisenhower pushed through the Civil Rights Act of 1957. One of Eisenhower's primary political opponents on civil rights prior to 1957 was none other than Lyndon Johnson, then the Democratic Senate Majority Leader. LBJ had voted the straight segregationist line until he changed his position and supported the 1957 Act.
Fact: The historic Civil Rights Act of 1964 was supported by a higher percentage of Republicans than Democrats in both houses of Congress. In the House, 80 percent of the Republicans and 63 percent of the Democrats voted in favor. In the Senate, 82 percent of the Republicans and 69 percent of the Democrats voted for it.
Fact: Contrary to popular misconception, the parties never "switched" on racism. The Democrats just switched from overt racism to a subversive strategy of getting blacks as dependent as possible on government to secure their votes. At the same time, they began a cynical smear campaign to label anyone who opposes their devious strategy as greedy racists.
Following the epic civil rights struggles of the 1960s, the South began a major demographic shift from Democratic to Republican dominance. Many believe that this shift was motivated by racism. While it is certainly true that many Southern racists abandoned the Democratic Party over its new support for racial equality and integration, the notion that they would flock to the Republican Party -- which was a century ahead of the Democrats on those issues -- makes no sense whatsoever.
Yet virtually every liberal, when pressed on the matter, will inevitably claim that the parties "switched," and most racist Democrats became Republicans! In their minds, this historical ju jitsu maneuver apparently transfers all the past sins of the Democrats (slavery, the KKK, Jim Crow laws, etc.) onto the Republicans and all the past virtues of the Republicans (e.g., ending slavery) onto the Democrats! That's quite a feat!
It is true that Barry Goldwater's opposition to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 probably attracted some racist Democrats to the Republican Party. However, Goldwater was not a racist -- at least not an overt racist like so many Southern Democrats of the time, such as George Wallace and Bull Connor. He publicly professed racial equality, and his opposition to the 1964 Act was based on principled grounds of states rights. In any case, his libertarian views were out of step with the mainstream, and he lost the 1964 Presidential election to LBJ in a landslide.
But Goldwater's opposition to the 1964 Civil Rights Act provided liberals an opening to tar the Republican Party as racist, and they have tenaciously repeated that label so often over the years that it is now the conventional wisdom among liberals. But it is really nothing more than an unsubstantiated myth -- a convenient political lie. If the Republican Party was any more racist than the Democratic Party even in 1964, why did a higher percentage of Republicans than Democrats in both houses of Congress vote for the 1964 Civil Rights Act? The idea that Goldwater's vote on the 1964 Civil Rights Act trumps a century of history of the Republican Party is ridiculous, to say the least.
Every political party has its racists, but the notion that Republicans are more racist than Democrats or any other party is based on nothing more than a constant drumbeat of unsubstantiated innuendo and assertions by Leftists, constantly echoed by the liberal media. It is a classic example of a Big Lie that becomes "true" simply by virtue of being repeated so many times.
A more likely explanation for the long-term shift from Democratic to Republican dominance in the South was the perception, fair or not, that the Democratic Party had rejected traditional Christian religious values and embraced radical secularism. That includes its hardline support for abortion, its rejection of prayer in public schools, its promotion of the gay agenda, and many other issues.
In the 1960s the Democratic Party changed its strategy for dealing with African Americans. Thanks to earlier Republican initiatives on civil rights, blatant racial oppression was no longer a viable political option. Whereas before that time Southern Democrats had overtly and proudly segregated and terrorized blacks, the national Democratic Party decided instead to be more subtle and get them as dependent on government as possible. As LBJ so elegantly put it (in a famous moment of candor that was recorded for posterity), "I'll have those niggers voting Democratic for the next 200 years." At the same time, the Democrats started a persistent campaign of lies and innuendo, falsely equating any opposition to their welfare state with racism.
From a purely cynical political perspective, the Democratic strategy of black dependence has been extremely effective. LBJ knew exactly what he was doing. African Americans routinely vote well over 90 percent Democratic for fear that Republicans will cut their government benefits and welfare programs. And what is the result? Before LBJ's Great Society welfare programs, the black illegitimacy rate was as low as 23 percent, but now it has more than tripled to 72 percent.
Most major American city governments have been run by liberal Democrats for decades, and most of those cities have large black sections that are essentially dysfunctional anarchies. Cities like Detroit are overrun by gangs and drug dealers, with burned out homes on every block in some areas. The land values are so low due to crime, blight, and lack of economic opportunity that condemned homes are not even worth rebuilding. Who wants to build a home in an urban war zone? Yet they keep electing liberal Democrats -- and blaming "racist" Republicans for their problems!
Washington DC is another city that has been dominated by liberal Democrats for decades. It spends more per capita on students than almost any other city in the world, yet it has some of the worst academic achievement anywhere and is a drug-infested hellhole. Barack Obama would not dream of sending his own precious daughters to the DC public schools, of course -- but he assures us that those schools are good enough for everyone else. In fact, Obama was instrumental in killing a popular and effective school voucher program in DC, effectively killing hopes for many poor black families trapped in those dysfunctional public schools. His allegiance to the teachers unions apparently trumps his concern for poor black families.
A strong argument could also be made that Democratic support for perpetual affirmative action is racist. It is, after all, the antithesis of Martin Luther King's dream of a color-blind society. Not only is it "reverse racism," but it is based on the premise that African Americans are incapable of competing in the free market on a level playing field. In other words, it is based on the notion of white supremacy, albeit "benevolent" white supremacy rather than the openly hostile white supremacy of the pre-1960s Democratic Party.
The next time someone claims that Republicans are racist and Democrats are not, don't fall for it.

Two Centuries of Racism - Brought to You by the Democrat Party

People’s perception of freedom never ceases to amaze me. French revolutionaries sent the ruling class to the guillotine, only to enslave themselves to the class structure of socialism. The Russian Tsars were chased out of their own country so that “freedom fighters” could live under the tyranny of communism. And, after more than a century of civil liberty battles and triumphs, African-Americans are flocking to the party that opposed every measurable civil rights initiative since the Emancipation Proclamation. It should stun historians that the party of the Ku Klux Klan and segregation now has an undeniable stranglehold on black America.
In fact, a quick Google search will yield thousands of results claiming the mantel of moral superiority in the name of Democrats. The Left’s self-righteous proclamation of compassion is matched only by their insatiable eagerness to twist history. It was the Republican Party – the party established on the abolitionist platform – that passed the Civil Rights acts of 1866 and 1875. The founders of the NAACP were all registered Republicans. Dwight Eisenhower (a Republican) is the president who sent troops to Arkansas to de-segregate schools. Republicans carried the Civil Rights acts of the ‘50s and 60’s to the President’s desk. Richard Nixon wrote the US commission on Civil Rights in 1975. It was George W Bush who appointed more minorities to his cabinet than any President before him.
And despite the fact that the Democrat party supported the KKK, instituted Jim Crow laws, fought for “separate but equal” southern laws, and opposed Martin Luther King Jr.’s march on Washington, they claim to be the party of the downtrodden. Perusing through websites like Salon, the New York Times, and the Huffington Post, one can find an endless number of articles describing the GOP as a party of rich, and racist, white men.
Today’s Party of Barack Obama and Harry Reid, ignores FDR’s history of opposing anti-lynching laws. They ignore John F Kennedy’s vote, as a Senator, against the 1950’s era civil rights laws. They even ignore the egregious violence and lawlessness that plague some of America’s most Democrat cities. (Such as Detroit, Chicago, Washington DC and Los Angeles.)
In a raging display that resembles the clinical definition of “denial”, the American left claims that Republicans have abandoned their civil-rights-minded past. They assert that the right wing of America is nothing more than racist, backward thinking rednecks who “cling to their guns, religion, and an antipathy toward people not like them.” (Remember Obama saying that?) But nothing could be further from the truth.
Conservative values – values that were intrinsic in American democracy long before the Republican Party – have always been the core of the right wing. Limited government, individualism, and equality are three values that helped spur the Republicans onto the national scene; and ultimately lead to their success in the fight for civil liberties. Today’s conservative causes continue the traditionally Republican heritage of promoting a better life for every American:
Welfare reform was not an assault on poor people of color. Rather, it was about lifting people (of any race or creed) out of poverty. Conservatives such as Newt Gingrich, Ronald Reagan, and even Calvin Coolidge, always believed the success of a welfare program should be judged by how many people no longer need it. While Newt Gingrich worked on reform that would limit welfare payments, Democrats looked at ways to make poverty more comfortable. Ninety-nine weeks of unemployment (today’s standard) is not designed to promote self-sufficiency; but it is certainly a populist and pandering attempt for votes. Wouldn’t a truly successful nation have little need for government-funded lunch programs, long-term unemployment benefits, and taxpayer-funded entitlements? Had Liberalism succeeded in lifting the afflicted out of victimization, wouldn’t cities like Chicago, Detroit, and Philadelphia be centers of prosperity and affluence for minorities?
School vouchers are about lifting children from failing schools. While Republicans continue to fight for a parent’s right to send their children to the school of their choice, Democrats continue to defend the failing status quo. Voucher systems would enable the poorest children to attend the same school as some of the most privileged. And while the reform would undoubtedly benefit the poorest among us (and disproportionately aid African Americans as well as other minority groups) the American Left would rather stand behind the millions of dollars’ worth of political donations from the Teacher’s Unions. (Apparently, protecting a union job is more important than sending an inner city youth to the school of his or her choice.)
Even the Conservative opposition to Affirmative Action is based off of the Republican Party’s long history of protecting minorities. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas wrote that “The worst forms of racial discrimination in this Nation have always been accompanied by straight-faced representations that discrimination helped minorities.” He was speaking, of course, about the American Left’s assumption that a person of color is incapable of acceptance into an Ivy League School without government intervention. For some reason, people on the left believe that minorities are so incapable of achieving, they can only experience something close to “success” with the help of the all-powerful government.
That gem, Democratic National Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, equated Republican efforts at voter ID laws with Jim-Crow laws. (Ironic. . . Given that she belongs to the party that tried to legislate discrimination for over a century.) However, it is the disenfranchised voters (the elderly, the poor, and – yes – minorities) who are most likely to be victims of voter fraud. . . You would think a law that applies at least a moderate layer of protection for legitimate citizens to cast their vote with confidence would be welcomed by all parties.
Conservatism, and the GOP, have always been the party of the individual. Individual liberty and freedom is the defining measure of national freedom. Martin Luther King Jr. did not dream of a world where his children were treated different simply because of the color of their skin; he dreamed of a world that judged them on their intellect, their effort, their success and “the content of their character.” (Oh, and by the way, he was a Republican.)
As the American Left sells their ideas of affirmative action, standardized schools, and race-based political correctness, we as Americans are not supposed to judge them on the impacts of their policies. Democrats claim to fight for the oppressed minorities in violence plagued urban cities. But, how dare we point out the failure of the Democrat leadership, Liberal initiatives, Leftist gun control, progressive teacher unions, and socialist rhetoric in those very same urban areas.
It’s not as if Republicans are responsible for the woes of Detroit. . . There are no Republicans in charge.
It’s not as if Conservatives are to blame for Chicago. . . Liberals run it.
It’s not as if the Right Wing was engaged in voter fraud in Philly. . . Democrats won 100 percent of the vote in multiple districts.
Democrats, the left, and progressives have always been the party of permanent class status. Where would the Democrat’s be without the “exploited” worker? Where would they be without the “struggling” man? The American left has exploited, plundered, and manipulated their way into power since they first justified laws that banned freed slaves from owning weapons for self-defense. Democrats have built their image off of class warfare, race-based-politics, and envy. They promise, in every election, to better the lives of the afflicted by afflicting the affluent. Their entire philosophy is based, not off of individual empowerment, but off of gaining comfort through government dependency.
The GOP has always been focused on individual rights; because individual liberty is the ultimate empowerment for the poor, the afflicted, and the oppressed. Only Government can successfully crush the spirit of the ambitious, or tax the wealth of the successful. Individual liberty is the power to make of your life what you would like, and take ownership of your rewards. This is the foundation upon which prosperity has historically been built. When the individual is free of government oppression, wealth soon becomes abundant throughout society. By contrast, larger government erodes property rights, encourages dependency on the state, and ultimately strips away the upward mobility upon which successful societies depend.
In short: Conservatism proudly declares that rights are granted by God, and every human being is capable of prosperity. Government’s role, is to protect the individual from oppression, and guard our individual rights to life, liberty and property.
Liberalism declares rights are gifts from Government. The American Left appeals to those who identify themselves as victims in the same way socialists and communists appealed to the oppressed masses of Europe and Russia. The truth is, their policies only promise the destruction of the powerful, not the empowerment of the oppressed. And thus, the “victims” will forever remain “victims” of urban violence, failing schools, deteriorating infrastructure and welfare dependency.
The Republican Party hasn’t changed. Only the way it is perceived has evolved over the decades.
And likewise for the Party of the KKK.

Irish, why do you think Black Americans can't make up their own mind on which party is better for them?

Why do you think the Black Congressional Caucus is 100% Democrat?

It is highly racist of you to assume you know better than Black Americans what is good for them.

The fact that you have to go back to the 1800's to point out cases of racism in the Democratic Party, by the way, Democrats were conservative, not progressives in the 1800's, only proves my point.

and the fact you just acknowledged democrats used to be conservatives only shows how blindly you have been led little sheepy. The logo for progressives is the cobra because they are known for the cobra effect. The country was no longer conservative after the New Deal garbage and sheep like yourself think progress was made. Of course, the numbers and facts never agree with you dante.

This country is so screwed. The ruling elites have successfully divided us up into so many little special-interest groups, we don't have any power anymore. And they're free to carry on with their agenda of getting richer and making their friends richer.

agreed! However from a financial standpoint I really don't care because you, me and the rest of the middle class can't beat the elite. With that said it only makes sense to vote for someone who wants to really try to make the country safer. That means control our borders and no politician since Eisenhower has even tried. One thing we know is that Hilliary clearly is not about safety. No politician today who says they are going to let 65,000 to 100,000 muslims cross our borders is concerned about our safety. People can kid themselves if they want to but that is inviting disaster. Trump is serious about the borders and he is the only one addressing the issue. If any other candidate was running against Hilliary the border wouldn't even be brought up. It would be economy, income inequality and redistribution of wealth and maybe healthcare. Without controlled immigration there is no safety period. Everything else is secondary.

Immigration is a wedge issue, nothing more. We have had controlled immigration forever. I could care less what the popular notions are about immigration, people are being left behind because there are no job retraining programs, college is expensive, labor unions were crushed. That is the fault of Republicans. End of story.

NAFT is a big reason for the illegals. Big Agro put millions of Mexican farmers out of business. or be an idiot and waste your vote. But, you're not accurate. The problem started way before NAFTA with democrats lying to reagan and the nation about securing the border. You need to shore up on the facts.

or be an idiot and waste your vote. But, you're not accurate. The problem started way before NAFTA with democrats lying to reagan and the nation about securing the border. You need to shore up on the facts.
