I look for the Chiefs to be the surprise of the AFC this season.

Wow, Denver huh? That's pretty tough for me to see because Denver was so bad defensively last year.

I don't see that they made any significant improvements in that area either unless I missed something.

They also lost their defensive coordinator from last season who is now coach of the Raiders.

Unless Denver expects to put up 40+ points every game, I can't see them winning the division.

This is honestly the biggest coin toss division in football. But when all is said and done the Donkos and Raiders will be battling for the title. Without question Oakland has the most overall talent in this division. If my boys can keep the penalties under control, and DMC stays healthy they will be tough. KC does not have a great defense it will be hit and miss like last season and when all is said and done they won't have enough offense to keep up most weeks. I have them at about 2-4 going into their bye. GL

As for Diego they have once again the weakest coach in the West, questionable o-line, Gates health?, average at best defense, and lost too many key players the last couple years. Aside from that these gutless losers only show up to play about half a season.

Let's see, they can't stop the run and they lost their best cornerback in Stanford Routt who went to Kansas City so they will now also get passed on with relative ease.

They lost their other starting cornerback in Chris Johnson who also went elsewhere.

They have McFadden but he can't stay healthy for a full season.

Carson Palmer is an interception machine if last season and this preseason is any indication.

On top of that, he has no real receivers to throw to.

Darrius Heyward-Bey has hands like feet and is injury-prone. Jacoby Ford had one decent season but that's it.

They lost their starting TE in Kevin Boss.

The draft didn't net them any starters.

They have a rookie head coach who has been in the league for exactly one season prior to this one.

This division is going to come down to the Chiefs and Chargers, clearly.

As I stated if DMC stays healthy they will be a contender. We have a strong cast of young playmaker receivers with DHB, Ford, Moore, and the new rookie Criner. The secondary is a concern and will have to play better however we have one of the better front 7's in football. Don't let the #'s fool you our rush defense is not that bad. Problem is they give up too many home run hits that pad stats for the opposition and deflate ours on run defense. Pretty typical game for Oakland plays out like this. If we surrender say 150 yards rushing on 28 carries that looks bad in terms of avg. However there are typically 2 runs combining for about 60-75 of those yards in a game which is deceiving if you just look at numbers. We now have a defensive minded coach who will hopefully address some of these issues and get the penalties under control better. Going back through Carson's history if he has a legit running attack and keeps his avg around 27-30 attempts a game his pick numbers are great. When he is expected to throw 40 times a game his pick #'s are terrible. Farve, Eli, Brees (to name a few) have all had many seasons between them where they threw 20+ picks and last I checked have all been fitted for rings. I would be shocked if S.D. or K.C. wins this division. Could be wrong but I know my team and I know this div. very well.

McFadden alone isn't enough to make a difference.

Having an offense where you depend almost solely on one guy is a horrible way to go into a season.

Suppose defenses focus on stopping DMac? Where will the Raiders offense come from?

Palmer, when he's on, is a decent enough QB but who is he going to throw to?

Jacoby Ford? DHB?

The Raiders are not going to contend for the division crown. At least not this year.

They are going to rely on their defense to get them through.

That's not enough though. It's also a bit much to ask of a rookie coach in only his 2nd year in the league.

The Raiders are in rebuild mode and will be for the next few seasons.

The Raiders will not do anything, Carson Palmer has looked absolutely horrible and they ahve no secondary.
