Oh really, Bill?
Why don't we just go ahead and allow donations to Obama's campaign while we're at it?
Not really appreciating you coming in here usurping my authority. Think about that as you enjoy your infraction!!Comment -

#79Damnit Giant... I already nominated your first suggestion so I can't nominate this one right away as well. My favorite part of it is "work hard and save up". If only Obama(or any other politician for that matter) encouraged people to do this... this country would be much better off.Comment -

I actually thought of this idea a while ago, but just assumed it was bandied about by now.
Obviously wouldn't make sense for first time pros, because they could just take their six points a day, and eventually become a member at no risk. But it seems like a nice perk for those of us looking to re-up.Comment -

#92I'm not doubting you. You actually clicked the link to do it so I'm sure you would.
I think you should just do the charity though. If you save your points you can make that back, plus with your NFL picks you will be cashing in much more in BTP.
The way they have it set up is kinda dumb though, you can actually wait until week 10 to see how you are doing before you decide to join. By that time you'll know what kinda chances you have, whereas if it was week 3 alot of people would be joining.
Also I agree with Opie, SBR should only open charities that they believe in. Why would they open a North Korea Military Charity just because we might have some people from North korea that post here????Comment -

#94It makes more sense for SBR to go with the donation route..
They make money with all the account we already opened, when we lose we reload, and they keep getting a cut..
Then they have A LOT of people that are outside of the US who are making new accounts and becoming pro like we did..
Then you have the US who will become pro and they get a nice chunk of tax deduction from donations...
It's a great money management by SBR by doing thisComment -

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) (pronounced [medsɛ̃ sɑ̃ fʁɔ̃tjɛʁ] (listen)), or Doctors Without Borders, is a secular humanitarian-aidnon-governmental organization best known for its projects in war-torn regions and developing countries facing endemic diseases. Its headquarters are in Geneva, Switzerland.[1] The organization is known in most of the world by its French name or simply as MSF, but in Canada and the United States the name Doctors Without Borders is commonly used. In 2007 over 26,000, mostly local, doctors, nurses and other medical professionals, logistical experts, water and sanitation engineers and administrators provided medical aid in over 60 countries. Private donors provide about 80% of the organization's funding, while governmental and corporate donations provide the rest, giving MSF an annual budget of approximately US$400 million.[2]
Médecins Sans Frontières was created in 1971, in the aftermath of the Biafra secession, by a small group of French doctors and journalists who believed that all people have the right to medical care regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation, and that the needs of these people outweigh respect for national borders.[3]
Core documents outlining MSF's principles are the Charter[4] and the Chantilly Principles, along with the later La Mancha Agreement,[5]which in Rules, Section 2 addresses governance. MSF has an associative structure, where operational decisions are made, largely independently, by the 5 operational centres (Amsterdam, Barcelona-Athens, Brussels, Geneva and Paris). Common policies on core issues are coordinated by the International Council, in which each of the 19 sections (national offices) is represented. The International Council meets in Geneva, Switzerland, where the International Office, which coordinates international activities common to the operational centres, is also based.
The organization actively provides health care and medical training to populations in about 70 countries, and frequently insists on political responsibility in conflict zones such as Chechnya and Kosovo. Only once in its history, during the 1994 genocide in Rwanda, has the organisation called for military intervention. In order to be able to speak and act freely, MSF remains independent of any political, religious or economic powers. The majority of MSF activities are paid for with private donations.
MSF received the 1999 Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of its members' continuous effort to provide medical care in acute crises, as well as raising international awareness of potential humanitarian disasters.[6] Dr. James Orbinski, who was the president of the organization at the time, accepted the prize on behalf of MSF. Prior to this, MSF also received the 1996 Seoul Peace Prize.[7] The current president of MSF is Dr. Unni Karunakara.

well of course they are...donate $, SBR gets something from it, whether a tax write off or more and in exchange you get worthless points...why do you think nothing was ever mentioned and then the next day there is only 1 option, if it was good for "us" in any way, shape, or form there would have been an official post.Comment
