Why. I would rather give $50 to a single-mother working three jobs to support her five kids, than give it to a charity that spends you're money on research, or tools, or books for children, etc. At least I know I'm making a difference, and not getting a fukkin e-card that say's "thanks for your support!"

If you donate $20 to a children's charity--learning for the underprivileged, say. Can you guarantee me that $20 is going to buy a kid a book? Or is it being used for food for employees, gas, transportation. By the time that $20 gets down to the person responsible for buying books for the kids, how much of it is left? $10? $2?

I would much rather give 200 to a quality charity than buy a crappy scam tout service or spend 2750 at amazon. Also, being an average joe working a day job buying a line service serves no purpose and would be throwing money down the toilet.

Could we get some Muslim charity groups we could send to also? Lot of Muslims are being killed in Burma and none of the news outlets are showing it. Babies are being thrown in fire pits and all kind of crazy stuff.

Would rather give to charity then to some book that you don't even usually want to post up at just to become pro. IMO John you should get as many reputable charities as possible so posters can pick which one they like best (maybe one or two not run by the jewish community)
