He is not strong enough to carry the pads, they did an ESPN special on him trying to play football

You dont take a lot of hits in the 100/200 meter races...speed and
height are one thing...toughness (phisical & mental) agility, strength hands, and route running only a select few have it in them...

going for the gay all other parts of the world futbol!

guy has the height and speed.

but he isn't as quick as other bigger sprinters in the first 10-40 yards..

but other sprinter's have made the switch, so why not?

anyone know what he earns in endorsements?

No one would pay him close to what he's worth vs the injury risk

Why would Bolt even want to play in the NFL? Guy made 20M in endorsements earnings last year and will make even more after his 2nd gold in the 100m.

I'm not sure he could handle it, but man it sure would be fun to watch him try. He not only runs fast, he just seems to run strong too.

He does have the size, and obviously the ridiculous speed. With the proper couple years of NFL training, if he truly WANTED to do it, he would have a good chance to be successful. He couldn't walk in off the street right now and play though.

Well there you go, he wouldn't. NFL is a ridiculously dangerous sport. Personally I think a guy like Manning is nuts to come back. He's got plenty of money. Why put your neck on the line, pun intended?

Well it was a comedy bit of course but they did really do it, but seriously Bolt does not have that much acceleration if he does not have solid receiver skills would not be able to make it.

he wants to play for Man U

On Monday, 2012 Olympic 100-meter champion Usain Bolt told a British newspaper that he'd like to play for Manchester United. On Tuesday, United star Rio Ferdinand offered to help, and the two exchanged tweets about the possibility.

His top end speed is what makes him the fastest in the world. His first step/first 20-40 yards (aka what matters for WRs) is nothing special compared to other sprinters. So I guess every olympic sprinter can play in the NFL? Too bad Gold Medalist sprinter Justin Gatlin couldnt come close to making a team when he tried out for the NFL.

Football players switch and become track stars, not the other way around

Bob Hayes, Willie Gault, Rod Woodson disagree

I can't think of any football players to ever quite to be a sprinter

Hershel Walker would be the closet to fit that... but not a sprinter

NFL players are slow, they would get killed by average track athletes.

All the 40 times in the nfl are bogus.

Bolt is one of the world's most famous athletes and has $20 million in endorsements. His favorite sport is cricket.

I can't think of any football players to ever quite to be a sprinter

Hershel Walker would be the closet to fit that... but not a sprinter
is it known that those guys were sprinters first? ron brown was definitely a sprinter first

what about that little midget that was on lsu a couple years ago....even though it's not nfl

darrell green could have been a gold medalist but i suppose that's part of why hes a hof'er
