i was a Champion in little league, 6th grade

huge game, tough pitcher on the mound, hard thrower

probably didn't have the bat speed to match up with him at that time boys

needed a hit to win the game boys

heard one of my teammates screaming at me "I'll buy you a piece of pizza if you get a hit! I'll buy you TWO pieces of pizza if you get a hit!"

he was one of the short kids with a lot of spunk and a squeaky voice

pressure was on

turned to look at third base coach cause thats what the big leaguers do

saw him touch his ear

as i stepped into the batters box my mind went off the situation for a sec and i thought "wait what was that? did he just touch his ear? didnt we talk at practice a few weeks ago that him touching his ear is the sign for a bunt? am i supposed to bunt?" was holding the bat kind of limply in front of me as i thought about it

looked up and saw the pitcher was already finishing his wind up

i was like "oh sh*t - the pitch is coming!" had only a split second to react boys

bat was not on shoulder bat was still in front of me from when i was thinking

just reacted boys, the ball was coming

smoked that b*tch harder than any ball I ever smoked right through the infield, all-star at shortstop never had a chance

we won the game, place went nuts
