I'm not loyal to any party, I voted for the Liberals until the last election when I switched to the Conservatives, I couldn't reward the liberals for their dishonesty and the scandals, now I can't support Dion, for me Harper is the lesser of the two evils.

Mathy your funny, but I really don't want to get into this, Alberta was plain lucky to have oil reserves in its territory, now they take credit for the oil.
Ontario created its own wealth, Albertans pride themselves on their entrepreneurial spirit, but create nothing, when was the last time a plant in Alberta manufactured steel/cars/trucks/trains/helicopters/or planes? The answer is easy - never.

Oil has always been here. Why would we build cars when we can pump oil out of the ground instead? Yes we are fortunate to have these reserves, but I don't think it's correct to say Ontario creates its own wealth... you don't have much wealth. And of course for historical reasons, you've got a huge population base = more output.

Until recently, the Alberta govt for example has been very fiscally responsible. It paid off a huge debt in the 90s when oil was still $20/barrel. McGuinty doesn't have a clue what he's doing. He is phucking your province over.

Right, the numbers here are big, Toronto's population is comparable to the entire province of Alberta.

I can't argue that Alberta has been fiscally responsible, they have and they are the model for the rest of the country, Alberta has an advantage though, they were blessed with oil, its because of the oil revenues that they can operate as they do. Plus the relatively small popultaion makes it easier to manage. Taking credit for being lucky doesn't seem right.

Ther are also cultural differnces between the east and west, the regions are simply different, not better or worse than the other.

I know Albertans like to think that they have it better than anyone else, good on them, but life is very good here in Ontario for myself and most of my family and friends, we have a comfortable place to live, decent jobs and good social lives. I can't think of any reason to ever leave here. 11+ million people aren't here because its a terrible place.

Too bad westerners have such resentments towards the east, we don't even give you guys much thought.

You are obviously exagerating when you claim that "noone" wants to buy the items manufactured here, if that were the case, manufacturing would come to a halt, it has only slowed down.

it's insane! i know what you mean. i don't live in deep cote st luc with the jews, i live in the poor area, the building beside where all the russians are coming in. and there's always stuff going on here.

last month a car exploded in back of my building, and one week after that, someone wrecked a car by throwing stuff from one of the windows, didn't really catch that one but it's getting bad.

everytime i pass by a couple of hot women on the street, i think how it'd be to do them, and then they start talking russian, and i know i have no chance already. every hot woman here is russian, it's annoying.

wow, that's very close. i live about 10 minutes from the shopping center, on westminster and cote st luc rd. my friend knows someone living in your building, and he's big trouble, not even russian, a jew in fact. i think just generally things are going downhill, and crime is on the rise. but yeah partially becasue of the russians. i'd take the jews over russians anyday though.

a few blocks from you too, there's walkley and fielding. those streets are trouble man. i'm even scared to go there during the daytime. always trouble.
