pico, i am not nosy.. just realistic.. and this goes for especially you.. You had USC -5000.. so even if you are 34-2 and 94%, you'd be down huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge, because of USC ml.

there are some guys that can go 13-4 (76%) every week and people are liable to think this guy is a star, meanwhile, this guy is down because his 4 losses were -370.. so he's down money.. but posters only will see the 13-4 (76%)

+ or - UNITS IS THE ONLY WAY TO SEE HOW GOOD A GUY IS DOING.. it's all that counts in this business. the rest mean zilcho..

I have lots of buddies that are hitting 63% consistently and wonder why they are broke from gambling. cause they never seen a favorite they didn't like.. it's all the ever bet..

I'll just show you all how silly this is to keep stats of winning %.. It means squat. I can go 12-3 or 80%, and people will say, wow, nicky is sharp, he's 80%.. meanwhile, i'd be down real money..
So you really think you can hit over 80% for at least 200 wagers, is that what you're saying? If so .

patty, i've been hearing the same thing now since 1999 on these forums.. i used to argue with them but i just gave up.. it gets me nowhere. i guess if a line was -185 and some book had it at -130, people here wouldnt bet it cause it's over -130. i never understood this.

patty, a -390 bet is good to make if real line is -480/+420..

if bettor takes +420, it only means that book is laying -420 to you.. and if it's such a bad bet, why is book laying -420? they are breaking their rules of betting games over -130.

patty, don't even bother.. 94% of posters will always say, don't lay over-150 etc... it's not about how much you lay, but the value in the bet. if bet has over 60% chance of winning, then laying -140 is a strong bet.. and so on..

i can even hit 90% if you want... but it does not mean i will end up with a profit. i can hit 91% and be broke..

that's why i am saying.. when i see a guy at 9-5 (64%).. it is meaningless..

Sure you can hit 90% (or more) with at least 200 wagers - . No offense, but I believe you are not being 100% truthful. All single sporting games (no parlay, teaser, alt line, similar bull$hit wagers. etc) and you'll hit over 90% - not going to happen, nobody is that smart/skilled. You can try, but will fail and fail badly at that. Keep dreaming.

Obviously, if you see someone who gets down 10 units, then makes a succession of 30 unit plays, you can weigh that differently than a guy flat-betting, or betting 1-5 units per game regardless of cold/hotstreaks.
Exactly...I don't even post units in the best bets thread. My W/L record speaks for itself...no need to artifically inflate it by making every play 20 units or whatever like some of these guys do.

Any system like this could be open to abuse and cheating, Nicky. The spreadsheets are just a tool for people to use if they so choose. People misrepresent themselves on internet message boards and chat room all the time.

As for having to grade it yourself, I believe Spreadsheet 3.0, due out in the Spring of 2009, will be part of our VIP Poster Package that will be offered up at the low, low price of 10 dimes per year. Among the amenities this package includes is your very own personal moderator to go in and grade your picks for you, one appointed ghost poster to follow all of your threads in total agreement with your picks, plus free shuttle rides from the airport to the hotel and back during SBR Bash gatherings. Stay tuned for more

By gawd that sounds fantastic. Nothing better for the old self-esteem than that.

Can we have the ghost go along with a prepared back-story of how we are "old-school" and whatnot? Because that would be large.
