If I searched a week late just go to southwest and search for flights on the right date from Las Vegas to St. Louis as though the cost might change 95% of the time the flight times will be on same daily schedule... The time and cost of bus from St. Louis won't change from one week to the next....

As far as being 40 minutes too late I can't help you there... If you insist on coming and going from Evansville at an exact time (especially one as absurd as 6 AM in the morning) you better not do much traveling as, even if the perfect transportation option magically appeared (and having been stuck different places both flying and on a bus sometimes for days before,) you are never going to be able to guarantee any method to the minute anyhow...

Just tell your mom that your going to be there at six and call and tell her a few hours early that you got delayed... Surely they can figure out something if you are delayed 40 minutes...
