Its actually about 600 tables now. 3 different rooms each bigger than commerce main room.

Holy shit, 600 tables going at once? That is insane. WOW. I mean I was in awe looking through a room full of 120+ tables but 3 rooms of 600, WOW.

Wel they have the main room that has 4 sections.

1) cash game
2) satelites
3) daily deepstack tournments( every 4 hours prize pool 100k+)
4) smaller tournaments

Other 2 rooms host the major events. IE events 1-68

My friend is a casino manager at Rio and said WSOP is a pain in the ass. Said it is a bunch of fat guys in electric scooters begging for comps when not playing in a event. Rio did put in a killer Chinese restaurant across from the buffet.

The WSOP is a "pain in the ass" because the Rio does such a terrible job of running it. Nobody would be begging for comps if they had some sort of card swipe system in the ballrooms. People "beg" for comps because that, along with greasing the floor's palm, is the only way to get one. I'm not surprised your friend doesn't like the series because many of the employees make it clear they don't want to be there.

Ps rio did a lot better job these days with comps. They have a point system for tournament entries. Nothing for cash game yet though.

This is actually one of the smallest $1500 events in years. First event usually has 2700-3500 players. Only 2100 this year. It did start earlier and on a monday holiday.
