The world of public opinion polling has fundamentally shifted since 2008. Rasmussen is using a model that doesn't take into account this shift, its as simple as that. I've told Sam Odom this multiple times but he doesn't seem to care or have any rebuttal to it. A) Rasmussen only polls landline phones, more and more people every day, especially poor people and young people have abandoned landline phones in the last four years. B) Rasmussen only calls once, unlike other polling firms that call multiple times, he does this between the hours of 5 PM and 9 PM on weeknights, this is a period of time that slants towards those who work traditional shifts and are home at night, i.e. people who work white collar jobs, also people who are older who don't go out after work. C) Rasmussen only speaks to the first person to answer the phone, this generally speaking is not the young adult in the household, and is instead more likely to be the senior in the household. D) He tries to correct for this, through party and age identification, but because his initial polling is flawed his self identification numbers are equally flawed. He also tries to make up for this with cross sectional internet polling, but I don't even have to tell you the many ways in which voluntary internet polling is flawed.
All of these problems are more pronounced today than they were in 2008, especially since more and more young adults moving back home to live with their parents because of the state of the economy, and the aforementioned problem of only polling landline phones.Comment -

We already saw a preview but you seem to discount it because it wasn't a "national" election. But Rasmussen was biased toward the Republicans on average ~4.5% in 2010. We will equally see it in 2012, because like I said, public opinion polling has shifted and Rasmussen has not gotten with the times. This has nothing to do with his bias toward Romney right now(although his methodology is skewed toward Republicans because of the problems I laid out) and everything to do with his methodology in general.
As I've said before, I trust polls that come out of Fox News before I trust Rasmussen Reports, he's just completely out of touch with the proper way to do a public opinion poll in a landline light society.Comment -

a) I'm not a liberal democrat, b) I didn't post this poll, Sam Odom did. I didn't question the results back in February because I looked at them and said, Rasmussen Reports is bunk anyway, so why bother to look at his results that he'll just alter by another poll that states the Republican identification is at an all time high again(which he did in March and April btw) and use this to skew his numbers toward Republicans, and I certainly didn't post the poll on SBR like Sam Odom is want to do with every poll that skews toward Romney but not do with any poll that skews toward Obama(of which there are two that show him with as large a lead as Romney has in Rasmussen within the last week).
According to Rasmussen party identification by Democrats has decreased in every year since Obama's election. This of course has nothing to do with the fact that Democrats are more likely to be cell phone only than Republicans based on demographics which, again, is the only group that he surveys. If Sam Odom had posted a poll that had Obama up 10 pts and it was from Rasmussen, I would similarly discount it because its Rasmussen.
You also despise minorities, so its no shock that you also despise liberal democrats.
P.S. Rasmussen's latest tracking today is back down to Romney+4, which speaks to the fact that he had one outlier day of polling data that skewed it all the way up to +7/+8 and that its now back down, but is still skewing more toward Romney than every other major poll out there, shock of all shocks since Rasmussen was +4.5 on average favoring Republican in 2010, and the numbers are only gonna get worse since more and more people are abandoning landlines.Comment -

Made what much worse? Is the economy much worse now than it was in 2008? How was the economy at the end of 2000 versus the end of 2008? How do you think the economy at the end of 2008 will compare to the economy at the end of 2012?
Or are you just referring to figures out the inherited debt and deficit, and claiming the Republican position that Obama is responsible for ballooning the national debt without any consideration about what policies caused portions of the debt.Comment -
