I don't understand why, Zubrus wasn't injuried, no prior incidents, and didn't leave his feet. Hopefully this will spark the Flyers but what a terrible way to go out. His hit was almost the same as Ovie's except Ovie left his feet and has priors.

you're right. Giroux should have gotten more than 1 game. I would have given 3 games. And I have $ on the Flyers. Giroux basically melted down over nothing and tried to intentionally injury the guy. The Devil player's lucky he isn't out for several weeks with a concussion.

you're right. Giroux should have gotten more than 1 game. I would have given 3 games. And I have $ on the Flyers. Giroux basically melted down over nothing and tried to intentionally injury the guy. The Devil player's lucky he isn't out for several weeks with a concussion.

If you look at it that way Weber should have got 3 games, and Carkner should have got 5 games +

I agree 100%. Remember what Duncan Keith did to Daniel Sedin? Effectively cost us (Vancouver) a run to the cup again. Personally I would have given Keith 20 games. Keith and Giroux aren't dirty players but just lost their heads. Doesn't mean they should get away with it. I want to see great hockey with the player's deciding the outcome with their skills and not whether some **** decided to cheap shot him and knock him out for who knows how long.

Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE knows the NHL is a joke when it comes to suspensions. In the preseason 3-5 games were being handed out to very weak hits and unintentional hits, now there are obvious plays where players are trying to hurt others and they either get nothing or 1 game. It's probably not Shanahans fault as he is probably just a pawn.
