I see Fuzzy Dunlop, who else is there?

Peanut is a reference to the street name of the kid who has the fallen police officers gun in season 3 that bunk is looking for.

I had an omar avatar for a long time a while ago.

      I started it.

Greatest TV show ever. If I had it to do again, maybe I'd go with one. Let's think of some good ones.......

          Allinthegame
          Wee Bay
          Omar don't scare
          Slim Charles
          Prop Joe
          King stay the king

Haven't watched in a long time or I'd have some better ideas.

This is a +infinite. I have yet to find a show that captured me as The Wire did. The storylines were well written, the acting was great, and the production was top notch.

HBO has a knack for pumping out top quality material, whether it be a series or movie. Oz was a great show as well, and IMO, it was on the same level as The Wire.

Deadwood was great, just wish it could have finished properly. Six Feet Under might be, writing wise, the greatest show in TV history. Treme took a few episodes, but was also fantastic.

I've tried rewatching Oz a few weeks ago and it doesn't hold up like it did when it was originally on.

Solid post. Six Feet Under was awesome, but also depressing as all hell.

The Wire is still the overall greatest, amazing acting, really well written. Only difference is that The Wire only used a few directors and Six Feet Under had like 20.

Possibly big0mar, but it's a longshot "The Wire" reference. His caption, though, is something like "Michael Jordan of Life", which might be a slight hint.

if you like the wire and know how to read pick up david simon's book, homicide. you'll see where a lot of the show's characters originate.

Check out the imdb rating for The Wire, you will shit yourself. The average score based on a 1 to 10 rating -- AVERAGE -- out of 30,000 plus votes, is 9.7. Never seen anything like that. There's your proof of the quality right there. That is universal adoration and respect.

Nothing reached the wire's level but my other favorite shows from the last decade are Dexter, Lost, True Blood, Deadwood, probably The Sopranos, and Breaking Bad, which I just started watching.

                                        Mine is not a reference.

Actually tried to use Stringer Bell, but someone already has it.

I totally agree with your Deadwood comment. The ending of that show left me on edge because it had so much potential, and it didn't deliver.

Six Feet Under was never one that I could get into. Same with Treme.

I will however say that after one season of Boardwalk Empire, I am completely hooked.
