When I first saw this I was like damn thats messed up.


But really it's not that big of a deal. I say 3-7 game suspension but DEFINITELY NOT suspended for entire playoffs. I don't think Artest meant to knock him down like that. It just looked bad b/c Harden fell down so fast. Not saying I agree with Artest for doing this but I've seen worse.

This is no different than a baseball player throwing a 100mph fastball at someones head. Or a football player making a cheap shot tackle.

i'm just replying to jj's intend to kill statement. artest didn't even look at harden and it was all arm. you can't kill someone without putting your whole body into your elbow and you gotta at least look at your target when you swing. "intend to kill"? lol... no. artest gets 4 or 5 games max.

I'm sorry but you have no idea what you are talking about. a.) it wasn't "all arm". b.) an elbow strike is one of the few lethal striking options that an unarmed human being has at their disposal, all forms of which are used in Muay Thai.

Did he intend to kill him? no, but he very well could have, or delivered at least partial paralysis if that shot was a few inches lower (upper spinal area).

Artest knew he was there, and the lakers have no love for james harden... Artest gave him a full wind-up elbow to the back of the head and didn't even turn around until well after the act.

Bottom line it was one of the most irresponsible things i've ever seen and harden's very fortunate he came away with only a concussion.

This should be a minimum of a 10-game suspension, and Artest's/MWP's past behavior has to be taken into account, just like it is done in the real world with offenders.

There is no excuse nor rational explanation for elbowing somebody to the head with such force. The hockey guy got suspended today for 25 games. What did he do that was any different than what Artest/MWP did?

Harden could be out for 10+ games. Why should Artest be allowed to play before Harden is back healthy?
