I've always considered the Canary Islands, Tenerife, probably the north side of the island. Beautiful women, beautiful weather, a couple casinos only a few minutes away, great roads, friendly people, cops don't hassle people, no snakes or scorpions, fukkin paradise. Even though it's a Spanish Colony everybody speaks at least English and usually another language or two. Didn't run into too many Americans but there's a bunch of ex-pats from all over the world there.

unless your assets are in the Billions I'd cross switzerland off the list. australia is gonna be pretty expensive too, especially if you want to visit the usa a couple times a year.

90% of mexico is as safe as it's ever been. Just stay out of the rest. Many of the retirement destinations are fine.

•The state with the lowest murder rate is Yucatán, the Gulf of Mexico state known for its beaches and Mayan ruins. Its murder rate of 2 per 100,000 was comparable to Wyoming and Montana.

•Washington, D.C.'s murder rate is nearly quadruple that of the Mexican capital, Mexico City. Washington's murder rate was 31.4 per 100,000 people in 2008; Mexico City's rate in 2009 was 8.

All decent choices, I am not a fan of Belize personally.

Costa Rica is a bit played out now. Panama is a lot of fun.

It's time to get the fukk out this country though. Good luck!
