depends on your interests, income, etc. do you want to be near the beach, mountains, big city? what kind of amenities , etc. latin america is not so cheap anymore so that's a big factor for some people.

thanks everyone... after the last kid is out of the house (grad HS this yr) and when the wife retires in December 2013 we are 80% sure of moving

I'm in Puerto Penasco and it's nice here but to cross at Nogales i have to "donate" to the Army and ride with the convoy through Sonora because it is to dangerous to drive on your own

What are you talking about? Hundreds of tourists drive their own cars to Rocky Point and don't have to ride with a convoy.
