I too was caught up in the emotional firestorm/national outrage a few weeks ago. I do hope he can get a fair trial. Perhaps the evidence will show that the prosecution honestly believes a second degree murder conviction is likely. The case isn't going to be determined by the bloody wounds, no one disputes that there was an altercation.

The case will obviously rest on if the prosecution can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Zimmerman actually assaulted Martin first. From the mugshot that was widely leaked of Z early it was easy to believe he would, but from what he actually looks like (5-8, having lost 60+ pounds since the years old photo) compared to what Martin actually looked like (6 foot, 10-15 lbs lighter and more athletic/towering) I'm starting to doubt in my gut that he threw the first blow.

If you feel you are being followed and threatened like trayvon was of course you are going to defend yourself which explains the cuts on back of zimmermans head, no stitches or medical attention was needed either.. All the kid had on him was iced tea and skittles and he was murdered

It's just so hard not to look at the fact that.. if he wasn't trying to break into a house or be abrasive with another human, why do you get out of the car and confront him with a freakin gun on you.. Call the cops, and keep a close eye if you are so concerned.

After Obama came up with his gem "If I had a son, he would have looked like Trayvon", every liberal democrat on the planet automatically sided with Travon and against Zimmerman. Make no mistake about it, Zimmerman is in custody solely because of the backlash started up by black racists including Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, congressional black caucus, etc.

If the evidence collected at the scene of the crime supported Zimmerman being arrested, he would NOT have been let go and released all this time. Zimmerman is in jail solely due to political correctness to satisfy the whims of these black terrorists.

I am thoroughly convinced that if Obama said the moon was made of green cheese, liberal democrats would fight to the end defending that statement.

If this case goes to trial then the legal system in Florida is flawed.

Great post, 100% accurate particularly the first paragraph. On another note, only in obamas america can a racist group like the black panthers put out a dead or alive bounty on someone and not have any charges brought up against them. Then again he had them stationed outside election centers in 2008 so why should i be surprised?

the fact that the father did not look for his son until the next morning, gleen from it what you will

if my teenage son had gone to the store for some skittles all alone and had not returned by sunset I'd be out looking for him like a mad man, my thought is that treyvons father did not go out looking for him because he was not expecting him to return, which means he was out there doing something other than 'returning home'

this is important because the assumption that treyvon was returning home is the only reason why he was considered an 'innocent victim'

if he was up to no good then zimmermans version becomes the more likely

this would be a lot more persuasive if (a) kid had had burglary tools (or something other than skittles and iced tea) on him at the time, or (b) Zimmerman could have had any way to know about this past occurrence (hard to imagine that he did).

What if Trayvon would of jokingly said, "I'm out scouting the neighborhood for houses to rob, but everyone was home, so I went to the store instead". That still wouldn't be grounds for a citizens arrest.
