I'm not saying players are stupid. Professional poker consists of waiting for a weak player to come into the game and separate him from his money. People attempting to dupe each other while all the while paying a house rake.

Other forms of professional gambling are more honorable in my view because you are in fact fighting the house. Or in parimutual pools you're playing against those that disagree with you. Not directly scheming the unaware joker at your table.

Well of course in poker you start with a disadvantage too --rake (a considerable%)

I'm not saying wiser ( poker is probably easier to beat)

more honorable, worthwhile, respect worthy. Its just my opinion.

Figuring out a way to beat the casinos, books, or track makes you a star. Beating some slug at poker--- not too impressive.
