What is the solution to all the racial animosity?

The divide goes way beyond appearance, otherwise people would hate blonde haired people, short people, etc.
The cultural differences, personal experiences, differing ethical and family values, etc. seem to diverge more and more.

They proposed a back to Africa movement and then didn't carry through with their plans. That would have solved the problem and violent crime would be down 90% in this country. They would have gotten to Africa, took one look around, and then turned the boat around only to be denied re-entry.

I think this is a good point. I think a lot of whites resent that while obviously racial bigotry can't be a big problem anymore seeing how a non white president was elected, large segments of the black population still play the "woe is me" race card the first chance they get.

Why does my race matter at all about the things you said? I have to be black to be able to talk about racial issues? Or, simply not-white? What if I'm Mexican? I don't know if you're black, white, or whatever, and I don't care.

Not voting for Obama has little to do with bigotry. Most of the bigots were republicans anyhow, so Obama wasn't getting those votes either way. Even then, most people weren't bigots, and disliked his policies. As others have already pointed out, voting for your own race went both ways in that election, and I think Obama got the better of it. I doubt he was losing many liberal whites because of his race.

I would agree that blacks haven't been truly free in this country in the last 60 years. I would actually argue that blacks have not been truly free in this country, EVER. However, I think just about everybody in this country has not been truly free (most whites prior to 1913 being the exception).

"Corporatism" is not the enemy here. Free markets reward people who are successful, and don't care about race or gender. Just look at sports. This was happening before the civil rights movement -- people were voluntarily integrating in sports because people realized that a lot of black people were really good at it. Voluntary integration would have continued, which is where true acceptance and individualism succeeds.
