Right, they are dual-citizens, naturalized as Americans, mother Canadian by birth, they lived, worked and paid taxes in the United States for almost 15 years, they still spend winters there and have American friends they associate with while in the country.

Why would that be a concern exactly, BBD? You do realize that McCain also received a significant amount of contributions from Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac as well too, right? How about the oil industry contributions to McCain? Shouldn't that be a bigger concern? How are we going to get away from high gas and oil prices with the oil execs in his pocket? And do you really think that is a good motivation for him to get us away from foreign oil dependency? Or better yet, how about McCain's involvement in the Keating 5 and his effort to deregulate the S&L industry which led to that scandal and his support for deregulation in the entire financial sector which led to the high risk subprime loan lending and the demise of some major financial firms which will be costing us for years to come, not unlike his cherished war in Iraq...

I agree. I see this as a huge problem in modern American politics. A friend of mine asked me the other day "so, will you be able to tell your kids that you didn't vote for the first black president?" My response was "yes, as long as you will be able to tell your kids that you only voted for the first black president because he was black."

I don't mean to imply that race is the only aspect of this candidate that people are elevating to the level of a superstar but just that many of these people are not using their heads when approaching the presidential election. I know several people who will be severely effected by Obama (and to a lesser extent McCain) tax increases. Instead of explaining that they enjoy paying these higher taxes b/c it fulfills their civic duty to help other (which I think is a perfectly good reason to vote democrat if you actually believe this) these people deny the fact that taxes will be greater (for them and people in our earning bracket) under an Obama regime.

After weighing the candidates positions I will be voting for the Republican, as I usually do. While I cannot induce any recent citizens to blindly follow me I have found that if I explain my reasoning and rationally discuss the issues with undecided voters I can do a little convincing of my own. Tell your parents I said no one can make them vote one way or the other, think about the issues and vote for the candidate that best comports to your views!

So i looked at some US-papers and found: "McCain Aide’s Firm Was Paid by Freddie Mac" - seen in the online version of the NY Times.

So what?

This big operators have been that powerful that they had high level connections to BOTH, Demos&Republicans.

This is IMO no argument against or for someone.

By the way, sorry to say that, i wounder how anyone can believe what´s said in a Spot. A Spot is just to make peoples minds with the same method they use for selling trash.

Most important Question is: Who can manage this:

1st. the econimic crisis (will cost much more than 700b, you can bet on that)

2nd: rebuild the good image of USA in the Rest of the entire World (Europe owes you lots lots lots (WWII) - but US performance is really not the best in the past years)

1st you need to survive - 2nd that i can stop defending your country against reproaches from my cirle of friends.

So, do not vote for a party, color or gender - vote for your future.
