Part of your Giant winnings from the Superbowl will be withheld to level the playing field for your compadres who took the Patriots.
It wasn't their fault Welker dropped that pass.
Of course, this sports book must be orderly in seeing this redistribution correctly executed, so just a little more winnings will be withheld from the Giants win bet.
Oh wait, you don't like this?
Well, tough sh*t. Don't bet then. (And btw, there's only one book in town now. It's illegal to go anywhere else.)Comment -

#189Lottery winner on food stamps. It says a lot, not about the girl, but about the system. I was on food stamps once and I had to go and volunteer in a goverment tree nursery like 30 hours per week. I didnt stay getting them for too long. But there is so much unemployment now that they probably dont know where to send the people to volunteer any more. Those tree nurseries would be too crowded.Comment -

#191Here in Maine you can buy lobster with your food stamps? What kind of BS is that? Nothing pisses me off more than watching someone buy groceries with food stamps and then head right over to the customer service desk on the way out to buy packs of cigs or lottery tickets. WITH CASH. (obviously, can't buy lotto with anything but cash, but still!!)
They also try to regulate what people can buy here, but like usual there's always a way around. The manager I know that works at the market says people will come in a buy bottled f*cking water (which is another food stamp allowed item here in Maine) and empty the bottles and return them (basically every bottle sold in Maine can be returned for .05c, including water, hello Poland Spring) But why they spend the time emptying the cases of water is to get that return money to turn around and spend it on booze! Government waste at its finest...Comment -

#196That chick that won the lottery reminds me of a story last year about a guy that was in a similar situation, but was clearly abusing the system...
I think it was in Michigan, guy won a fair amount in the lotto, was driving a new Audi TT convertible I think and still using EBT card at grocery stores, the local news channel had caught up with him in the parking lot loading said groceries into new said vehicle and he was just a dick. Said the money hadn't changed anything and would continue to use food stamps to his liking etc etc

#197I think you overestimate people. My girlfriend's mom is divorced, and she is a massage therapist and most of her clients pay cash. She probably makes 60-70K per year but the government only thinks she makes 10-15K b/c only a few of her customers pay check or CC. Thus, she qualifies for $200 a month. She uses it even though she doesn't need it. Just an extra grocery free roll basically.
