Part of your Giant winnings from the Superbowl will be withheld to level the playing field for your compadres who took the Patriots.
It wasn't their fault Welker dropped that pass.
Of course, this sports book must be orderly in seeing this redistribution correctly executed, so just a little more winnings will be withheld from the Giants win bet.
Oh wait, you don't like this?
Well, tough sh*t. Don't bet then. (And btw, there's only one book in town now. It's illegal to go anywhere else.)Comment -

#182Right to work states. Unions are borderline to big to stop because of the ridiculous/unsustainable benefits they promise their workers. The only thing that will cause change is completely rock bottom. This country has turn into a meth addict, nothing will make it change its ways unless it hits rock bottom and has nowhere to go.

#183LOL when the hell did having the freedom to do whatever the hell you wanted become a con mans agenda?? You are completely ignoring the most important issue. DEBT! 9 of the 10 states with the highest per capita debt are non right to work and 6 of those are in the top 10 on your highest paid list. Like i said earlier "ridiculous/unsustainable benefits they promise their workers"
Also isn't it funny how the biggest liabilities are mostly non right to work and the lowest are mostly right to work.

#189Lottery winner on food stamps. It says a lot, not about the girl, but about the system. I was on food stamps once and I had to go and volunteer in a goverment tree nursery like 30 hours per week. I didnt stay getting them for too long. But there is so much unemployment now that they probably dont know where to send the people to volunteer any more. Those tree nurseries would be too crowded.Last edited by probettor1; 03-09-12, 12:50 PM.Comment -

#191Here in Maine you can buy lobster with your food stamps? What kind of BS is that? Nothing pisses me off more than watching someone buy groceries with food stamps and then head right over to the customer service desk on the way out to buy packs of cigs or lottery tickets. WITH CASH. (obviously, can't buy lotto with anything but cash, but still!!)
They also try to regulate what people can buy here, but like usual there's always a way around. The manager I know that works at the market says people will come in a buy bottled f*cking water (which is another food stamp allowed item here in Maine) and empty the bottles and return them (basically every bottle sold in Maine can be returned for .05c, including water, hello Poland Spring) But why they spend the time emptying the cases of water is to get that return money to turn around and spend it on booze! Government waste at its finest...Comment -

#193Walking through the grocery store, I see that EBT is accepted for luxury food items.
What a joke. They should eat dog food and drink from the faucet on the tax payer's dime... allowing them to spend their EBT on soda, chips, candy, and filet mignon, this country lets them be lazy prikks and get away with it.Comment -

I do agree tho there should be some type of limit, like they cant spend more than 12$ or something dollars on meal...to prevent them from buying lobsters steaks ect.Comment -

#196That chick that won the lottery reminds me of a story last year about a guy that was in a similar situation, but was clearly abusing the system...
I think it was in Michigan, guy won a fair amount in the lotto, was driving a new Audi TT convertible I think and still using EBT card at grocery stores, the local news channel had caught up with him in the parking lot loading said groceries into new said vehicle and he was just a dick. Said the money hadn't changed anything and would continue to use food stamps to his liking etc etc

#198I think you overestimate people. My girlfriend's mom is divorced, and she is a massage therapist and most of her clients pay cash. She probably makes 60-70K per year but the government only thinks she makes 10-15K b/c only a few of her customers pay check or CC. Thus, she qualifies for $200 a month. She uses it even though she doesn't need it. Just an extra grocery free roll basically. I bet this kind of situation is MUCH more common than you'd think.

Amanda Clayton, 24, of Lincoln Park, chose a $700,000 lump sum, before taxes, last fall after winning a $1 million jackpot on "Make Me Rich!" a Michigan lottery game show. A Detroit TV station approached her this week and asked why she still was using a debit-style card to make purchases under the food-stamp program.
"I thought that they would cut me off, but since they didn't I thought maybe it was OK because I'm not working," Clayton, a mother of two, told WDIV. "I feel that it's OK because I have no income, and I have bills to pay. I have two houses."

#210GOP has no problem with spending 500 billion annually on military spending with an addition 200-300 billion in supplemental war spending. I watch a ton of discovery investigation shows and when ever you see a cop around 48-50 years old it always says RET. after their name. Not one of you fuks ever bitches about the fact your paying all these losers 90% of their salary for the next 35 years but will bitch about a program that makes up .50% of the annual budget and will cry like it's the end of the world if someone takes their $35.69 weekly food stamp check and buys a candy bar.
I like to see any of you try living on $4.50 a day in food stamps.
I absolutely love the quote in bold.
It is stated as if it is completely absurd to expect someone to live on their own work and earnings.Comment
