    No seeding is important

She has been worn down by playing tougher players in early rounds since her return

It is very important on the body

Right, but that goes for every top player. Seeding just matters for the player themselves and their path. Their opponent isn't going to consider them more or less dangerous if they're seeded 1st or unseeded, when it's someone who is known to play on an elite level.

I totally disagree with that for this tournament at least. Her draw at the Aussie Open was cake before Makarova. She was barely spending an hour on-court for those matches [79, 69 and 59 minutes] through three rounds. The ankle injury was a pretty obvious factor for her preparation for Melbourne, but it did not seem to hinder her a ton until the Makarova match and even then how much it was the ankle vs. just a really bad day is debatable.

Surely seeding does help your draw, but in the WTA where you can find mostly equal level players from #1 to about #15, there's less of a worry than you'd find being saddled with a shit draw on the ATP side IMO.

when ur in the 4th round of a major, ur gonna face some1 good
if any1 has watched serena play, u will realize something was off last nite
she is usually screaming like a bansheee
but she was very subdued, thats not her game
she was either hurt, sick, or affected by the heat

no1 wants to face serena no matter wat seed she is
she doesnt need a high seed to win a major
didnt serena get to the finals of the usopen unseeded last year?

clijsters won a grand slam unseeded when she unretired

            Seeding is rarely the difference.

Yes there can be occasions where someone might've won with an easier path, but many times the winner was simply the best player. Djokovic has been pretty clearly the best in the world over the past year, for example, and he didn't win his majors because of seeding. The other top players just weren't good enough to beat him.

Wozniacki and Safina being seeded #1 didn't get them anywhere because they didn't have what it took to beat the top players in a major.

Serena wins most of the time when she shows up in shape and actually cares, and the seeding doesn't matter much there either.

yup, wozniacki has been 1 or 2 seed the last couple grand slams
and she loses deep in the tourney each time
shes just not good enuff to beat the best players in majors

Both the Williams sisters did a lot for women's tennis. I think Serena deserves a break .. the girl has earned it. The one flaw that did bother me about both sisters, was they talked about "injuries" before almost every major; like it was a built-in excuse. Other than that, they made women's tennis watchable, at a time where it was not.

I love fading them! I started last night! too bad it was only 10/114.....still nice hit. they are both all done. they were obviously great a decade ago.....but they are done now! so much value fading them after the 2nd round! the public and books way over inflate their lines! cant wait till Serena plays again....may? to start fading! I do not think Venus will play again.

She is completely talentless, she is just a man who overpowers her opponents the way the 1753rd best male player would do if he competed against broads.

I would take the best 15 year old boy over #1 broad tennis player

yeah and ana ivanovic trained in the deep end of a pool with no water because of Bosnian war

doesn't mean shit in womens tennis.. they double fault on match point and drop full sets for no reason. Never see Federer do that.
