Her. And then she ended up with a pulmonary embolism which started in that leg and spread to her lungs because she was stuck for over 5mths in a cast and walking boot. She ended up with so many bloods clots in her lungs immediately that she was afraid she'd die.

Chick has been through the wars the past year. That's why I can't fault her for deciding that she wants to enjoy her life now instead of grinding it out on Tour all the time.

I expected/maybe still expect that both of them will be Slam specialists until they choose to hang it up. They more or less are that right now due to injury. I can't believe anyone who has been drilled from an early age isn't burnt out by 30 playing that sort of schedule.

No one cares about her seed/ranking .. sure ... my comment was in response to JJ saying she needed to improve her ranking. My point is along the lines of what you said about DelPo, it doesn't matter if she's #1, #12, #107 ... ... no one wants to see them in the draw, knowing the danger. That's my point about Serena. If she is in the draw, she's dangerous no matter her seeding.

If Serena is healthy and shows up, I'd take a stab that she wins the US Open if she's got sufficient match play done throughout the year. I just think it's short sighted to say she's not going to win another Slam based on this tournament because of the circumstances. Maybe it's short sighted for me to think she can win later, but she's far from done and losing like she did here may be the one thing that actually motivates her.
