      HAARP program

a highly sophisticated form of weather controll to induce panic among the people thus doing so gaining controll of their minds.

one hell of a magic trick thing is they have been doing it since time itself began

If New Orleans is struck again, I wonder if there will be as much enthusiasm to rebuild it again. Two major hurricanes in a 3 year time span after 40 years of no hurricanes is not a good trend.

That would be unfortunate. We were there not even a year after Katrina and although it wasn't very crowded, it was still a pretty neat place.

I'm probably the happiest guy on earth when a hurricane or an earthquake hits. This means business for me for years to come. No recession in my profession guys. You should consider switching careers.

Im going to post some surfing/wave pics on Monday, they are predicting 15-25 foot surf here on Monday. Its still small this morning, say 3-4 feet at the moment.

JJ, you need a little education. Buy a paper once in a while or pick up a book and educate yourself.

Gustav crossed western Cuba on Saturday and has already killed more than 80 people in the Caribbean. It picked up speed upon reaching the gulf and was moving northwest at 17 mph with winds of 120 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center's 11 a.m. EDT update. Hurricane-force winds extended 50 miles from the storm's center.
Its center was about 325 miles southeast of the Mississippi River's mouth. The storm could bring a storm surge of up to 20 feet to the coast and rainfall totals of up to 15 inches.
A hurricane warning for over 500 miles of Gulf coast from Cameron, La., near the Texas border to the Alabama-Florida state line, meaning hurricane conditions are expected there within 24 hours. Alabama Gov. Bob Riley issued a mandatory evacuation order Sunday for some coastal areas of Mobile and Baldwin counties.
In New Orleans, Nagin used stark language to urge residents to get out of the city, calling Gustav the "the mother of all storms." He also called it the "storm of the century."

Is it overblown, yeah a little, but if I bought a house located in a bowl I would be hitting the road. I hope it totally gets blown away this time, so they won't waste any more of my tax dollars rebuilding that city to the way it was. Either invest the cash and build some appropriate dikes or leave and let the earth reclaim the swamp. The bigger question should be about the refinerys. If the storm goes to the west and wipes out the refinery capacity, you can welcome $5.00 gas for a month or so. So in short I care more about the gas than people who are too stupid to leave the city for good because of the failed city planning that has been prevelent from past years.

We can build space stations and man-made islands in Dubai but we can't keep the water out of NO? It seems like no one wants the red figure that comes with cleaning this place up. Maybe someone will get elected based on tackling the need in NO.

I don't know much about the local economy there or the infrastructure. If the mother of all Hurricanes hits, bigger than Katrina, would a new system keep everyone relatively safe? It seems like that's what people need to know before they go back down there and invest in rebuilding.

It will actually be worse this time because the maximum force winds will be directly above New Orleans since the landfall will be to the west of the city. The Saints better find a new home. If the dome gets hit with high winds it will be history.

Looks like I was right, Cane is 90 miles away from New Orleans

Basically just going to get heavy rain, evacuation was an overreaction and they jumped the gun too soon.
