#4no JJ, they are not. They are on the east side, which is the BAD side of the storm, Katrina was only a cat 3 when it hit land, this will be a Cat 4.
I love New Orleans as much as anyone, i pray it will keep going west, the French Quarter is a treasureComment -

#13Surfing will be great here in NW Florida Sunday-Monday, looking forward to it. Just keep the hurricane 50-100 miles west of me so I dont have to board up the house.
As far as NO goes if it takes them out again, hopefully they will be smart enough the 2nd time around to just not try to rebuild a city thats lower than sea level, JMO.

#34Coach, you sir are a legend...but I will break this down for you....
This is like last years ND team playing Florida and running there mouth a week before the game.... results just won't be good on the field when Florida gets done with them....
1st part...models have shown this hitting the louisana area as a category 3 hurricane...
2nd part.. its going to have a storm surge...this is where the waves come up really high... for a short period of time... The really bad part about this storm surge, is its expected to be higher than the levee's in new orleans (referred to as a puddle from now on)
3rd part about being in a puddle is you have to get the water out to not be a puddle anymore...well now that your in the puddle again...that means all the pumps will seize up and cease working so the water won't be draining...
4th lets talk about the levees that protect the puddle some more. You know they were contracted out to the lowest bidder that promised to complete them with the government money up front in advance years ago??? yeah well they fell behind and they aren't completed...this means that part 2 the storm surge will be surging directly into the streets of new orleans...
5th part about the puddle is that its expected to be larger than 2005...its expected to flood additional new areas of New Orleans that wasn't flooded before in 2005.
6th part of this whole situation is the fact that the guy who runs the models ****ed up. Its not a Catagory 3 hurricane anymore, its currently a Catagory 4 and projected to easily be a 5 by making land fall... if memory serves me right Katrina was briefly a catagory 3 and then mainly a two while it did the damage on the puddle of a city.
**** the people in the puddle, let them get webbed feet and some fins or some shit.Comment -
