Yea it is minimum wage plus tips. Not even state minimum wage but federal minimum wage. U have bad nights "$60" in tips and good nights "+$600" If I don't make $1000 a week in tips it was a below avg week. I did go to dealing school for all of 6 days. That doesn't matter really u just have to be able to pass an audition to get the job. Some places require experience though. I started off at a shity place and worked my way up the casinos. 3-5 years ago it was even better. When the economy was good. My wife use to work at San Manuel and if she didn't bring home $300 it was a bad night. The economy has hurt us too. I don't have any connects for a job though and I recommend going to dealers school then starting at the bottom. This would be at like Pauma Casino if your in California. They probably make about $15 per hour wig their tips.

I don't deal poker. I deal blackjack and all the carnival games like mini bac, paigow, three card, etc. Fun job everyday is a gamble. You go to work knowing you have a shot to bring home a thousand bucks if u can dump to the right people. Good luck bro.

Trust me this is a good job in CA. My mom was a branch manager at a bank and left it to get into this job. And she makes a lot less working at a "pool tips" joint.

            Hi,

I did a google search on how much cali poker dealers make and came across this forum which showed you posting some very valuable info. The reason I'm contacting you is I'm a poker dealer in midwest and is transitioning to san jose ca to work as a table games dealer and would like some additional info. I see that you post on 1-11-12 your check stub showing a gross of 76k for dealers in the san deigo area...WOW is all I have to say n I am very intrigued of moving to san jose ca to become a dealer, is that what you net after taxes? I have already passed my job interview at casino m8trix which is the new garden city card room and will be working there shortly after my finger printing is all done next week tues. But there's only one thing that is holding me back and its the cost of living in san jose probably one of the highest cost cities to live in the state of cali. As I mentioned earlier, I am a dealer myself and have been dealing only poker since '07 and no tables games. For the past yrs of dealing poker I have made between 47k-52k whereas table games they have to pool their tips, sucks (avg at the most $20 per hr with their base pay). Knowing if I only make that amount in san jose its going be very hard to pay the bills. I have played in both card rooms bay101 and ma8trix in the san jose area and the tips I seen given is ridiculous compare to where I deal at. I'm estimating poker dealers there make around 70k-80k and tables games bout the same if not more due to you can get 1k+ tips a nite. All in all I have spoken to floors and dealers at m8trix but then when you go into that area of talking about someone wage or salary its kind of a shy and grey area people dont like to get into. So I couldn't really find out too much on how much the dealers in san jose make but just a rough estimating on the tokes dealers received. With you posting your stub it has been very helpful and see what the ballpark is. If you don't mind me asking some questions to help me deciding upon my move to cali I would greatly appreciate it. Do you know of any poker/table games dealers working in the card rooms in san jose and how much they make after taxes? How much have you make the this past yr if you are still in the same profession? Any info you can provide me is greatly valued.

Thank you for your time being...
