Dealers get paid minimum wage and live off tips. Poker room dealers usually keep their own. The rest pool them. Places like Caesars, Wynn, Venetian full timers earn at least 70k a year in this economy. Lower end places are around 40-50k. Most places hiring nothing but part timers to keep from paying benefits.

I worked at Foxwoods in CT from 94-2000. Blackjack and craps. Mostly craps...once you have craps they always need dice dealers. They pooled the tips (so you know they stole some) for thousands of dealers. They didn't give you all of it on weeks that were good and have you more on weeks that were bad. So you always got between 11.80-12.80 an hour in tips. Then they paid you like 6 am hour I think it was. So you always got 450 a week after tips if you worked the whole shift like I did days worked 12-8. When you worked swing shift they always sent you home around 1 when the place died down. So I put in for days ASAP. Swing shift pay checks sucked! If y

ooooops I hit send. Ok now you get a break every hour for 20 minutes. That's kinda nice. You need it!
I hear Vegas is better. I have friends in Vegas. Someday I cam see myself working there. If the economy picks up and jobs are available!
Another thing good about Foxwoods they send you to school for free! I wish I took more games. All I have is craps blackjack novelty games like carribean stud and pai gow.

Club servers can pull in 6 figures easily if they know how to work system. They walk with a lot of undeclared cash from vip tables on top of the bill. Unfortunately for most their shelf life is 3 to 4 years. Servers on casino floor make 50k minimum at a decent property if they show up and work. Most don't though. They have a kid or 3, a low life boyfriend and debt up to their implants.

I live in Ca and I have been dealing blackjack and all games but poker, roulette, or poker. I have worked at three different casinos all "go for your own" right now I am working at the biggest casino in California. I have been there for 4.5 years now and have been full time for the past 2 years. Those two years I made $71,000 and $76,000 for the two years. I work grave yard 2-10 and have the entire time I have been there. How much you make depends on the you as a dealer. Half the dealers at my casino have no personality and don't speak very good English so they have trouble pulling in real good tips. I love this job. I am 34 years old now and like I said I have been dealing 11 years. I actually got my wife, brother, mom, step dad, and friends to start dealing years ago. Thing is you can get burnt out doing it after a while. Me I love it but like my wife hates it. Its a stressful job believe it or not. Not the actually work but you have to put up with idiots that think its your fault they are losing and stressful because you can make $50 one night and $1000 the next night. So unless you are good with budgeting, which I am not, it is stressful very often. All in all I would recommend it to anyone that is lazy but has a good personality. No way will I ever do one second of hard labor in my life again. When I get burnt out of dealing I will be a floor supervisor. They make like $22 about. Not as good as most dealers but even more of a cake job than dealing.

I pretty much heard that it sucks for a long time in vegas. While plenty are making 50k, they have to start off for years working bullshit casinos, not even freemont st bullshit, but like real bullshit. And then you slowly move to other ones as you meet people. Or i imagined a conversation with a dealer last time i took acid and this isn't real.

I dealt for ten years, 1986-1996 in Vegas. The last five years I was at the Excalibur. I was paid minimum wage (like $36/shift) and my daily tokes averaged around $60-$70 a day. Every now and then we'd get the $200+ "score" but there were also the occasional $40 days. I don't think I ever made more than $40K/year. But I've been out of the biz for 16 years now and minimum wage has certainly increased since then. When I dealt I picked up an envelope each day with my prior days tips in cash but most joints these days put everything in a check with the taxes deducted.

Most dealers on the floor in Vegas are paid min wage plus tips.
All casino floor dealers (bj, roulette, craps, etc) pool their tips so if your good and get a $100 tip
and the person next to you sucks and no one it at their table that $100 gets split
between everyone on the floor at that time.
Wife did it for a few months at osheas and flamingo made about 60-80 in tips a night
There are always the bigger places like Ceasers, Aria, Venetian, bellagio and such
That make more but you wont just go to dealer school and walk in there and get a job
you need to know someone or have experience a few years.
There are other places that earn $25ish a hr like southpoint, red rock, green valley but those
are more local places and people know to tip there, usually a lot of casino works play there.
Then you got the "Model" dealers they keep their own tips and i heard some even are guaranteed
a set amount each night.
The Big money I have been told is dealing poker a friend makes min wage plus
2-400 a night in tips and in the poker room
you keep your own tips. He says if you can keep the game moving, and keep track of the pots its nothing
for someone each down to throw you a $5-25 or more bump for a big win.
and on a small hand even a $1-5 builds fast if you keep the game moving.
So starting out $15 per hr or so until you get to a higher establishment or locals joint
or can get into a poker room

Here ya go. And you can calculate the hours too there is no way I avg more than 32 hours a week for the year. I would sign the early out list many days. $76,557 for the year. Trust me this is a good job in CA. My mom was a branch manager at a bank and left it to get into this job. And she makes a lot less working at a "pool tips" joint.
