#72ok it's a new day and I've settled down. I get really paranoid when I'm on a losing streak, but N. Illinois came through for me last night, so i'm doing better.
Screw him though, i'm still not playing him anymore.Comment -

#74You're reading too much into it. I'm pretty sure average level of SBR-poker play is quite a bit lower than any poker room with real money. Ricky Steve has probably earned good amount of points playing very agressively in the room. That play may have been -EV against you, but overall, if his point stack is growing he'll know what he's doing. There's different strategy to points and low skill level opponents than it is in real stake real money table. Much faster to make coin with high stake coin-flips with modest edge than conservative grinding.Comment -

#76Good thread. I've played RSteve as much as anybody heads up. I learned a lot from playing him but the lessons were not free.
He is good at mixing his bluffs and good hands so you are not sure when he is playing ahead or bluffing. Its still poker and you can beat him if you are prepared to call all ins with an ace high occasionally. Even if you have to reload you will cause him to alter his style because now he is not sure when you are pushing with a pig n a poke. But if you are only going to be aggressive when you are in the lead he will know that and bail when you're loaded, the rest of the time he's stealing your blinds and early soft bets.Comment -

One other thing that needs to be noted.... You have to have the bankroll to play at this level. If you playing with your entire points balance, ricky and few other players have an edge on you.
As Rudy correctly noted, if you are playing with scared money, that is an issue that is exploitable.Comment -

#78GUYS! He called all in!
Once this happens, strategy is irrelevant, aggression is irrelevant, bankroll and stacksize are irrelevant, strategy or intimidation are irrelevant. Once he makes this call he is simply saying I think my hand is better than yours. What I don't get is how any winning player can decide calling with A8 is +ev here considering the pot odds.Comment -

When you have a hyper aggressive image and raise what seems like every pot you are going to get players that get fed up and ship ATC or at least some ranges where A8 is way ahead. Most wouldn't even put KK or QQ in your range figuring you would want to extract value with them so if you give a range of 22 thru jj and even some kings like KJ+ plus some of the time air its not really a crazy call. Also its a ring game so the fact that he called all in doesn't matter like it would in a tournament.Comment -

#86Centaur, you have no idea just how far this goes. It's not a guy who has hacked the software. Sure there may be a few guys conspiring to collude and cheat the game but that is child's play to what is really going on with SBR Poker.
Centaur, this goes all the way up to the top. The points situation is getting out of hand with all the store purchases and such that it is cutting into John's bottom line. Centaur, John has bots playing to win the points back. That's not all though. Too many bots would be suspicious so he has also ordered the software target certain players both to win (some) and to lose (more) on a regular basis.
Watch how quickly this claim gets rejected or how many come and say I'm fok'n bonkers. Centaur I'm not bonkers, it's happening.Comment -

Exactly, at least it's for free. I would be pissed if I was playing for real money with this software. Maybe many people don't have the privelege of actually going to a casino and playing live poker for tangible currency.

#94Maybe the questions should be, Centaur, would you ever call an All In with A 8 suited? How about at a ring game that you can reload 10 times? How about playing heads up? You got a bad beat. Face it. I saw an all in yesterday. All in AA got called by 72 off suit. Frigging 72 turned into a full house. Instead of pleading to John to fix things, don't play. Then you can never have this type of problem ever occur to you. Problem gone.Comment -
