All depends on the purpose.....your AR 15 is 99% the same ammunition as most hunting rifles (5.56 vs .223 rounds) only velocity/pressure is the difference. And I'll put the AK against the AR for $1k any day of the week on sheer power.....trust me when I say you don't wanna be close quarters behind a wall in Iraq with the 5.56 and M4 carbine against a crazed lunatic with a 7.62 AK....he wins that everytime

thread turned amusing..to say the least. The argument that knives are more effective than guns is out there. You are assuming that a guy with a knife will have enough confidence to bum rush a guy with a .45, or a pump action shotgun. I'm sorry, natural reaction is to pause or run when a gun is pointed at you, or when the sound of the slide resonates and that individual just knows. Even if we're talking trying to close the distance, while someone is drawing, it's highly unlikely your getting your kill slice in before shots are fired. If you are that close with a knife and the other individual doesn't see it coming, then that's a different story.

Yes but what are you going to do after I cut your throat with my knife. By the time you realized what happened you will be dead. It takes 1 second to grab my knife from my ankle and strike your throat whereas you have to grab your gun, make sure is loaded and take the safety out before you even fire a shot.

I can blast r head off from 30 ft away where u bave to cut me at 1 arms length. U aim that tough to try to rush someoe with a gun pointed right FUCKEN at u.
