There chances are not dead, there is no great team in their division, and a good team is even debatable. If they can get hot in the 2nd half and win 8-9 games that could be enough to win the division. I don't honestly believe the redskins are a quality team.

I totally agree, Even if Vick get hurt they still have a mediocre Qb Vince Young,( i think he pretty good, I wanted him in SF)(Smith is doing okay now though) Their defense is new, so they just need to get their chemistry together. I wouldn't be suprise if the Eagles try to obtain someone on the Defensive side to their team by trade before the deadline.

most years, i would say, absolutely, you are crazy.... ive been watching football for a long time, and this is the best 1-4 team that I have seen (i know, sounds retarded saying a 1-4 team is good)..

This nfc east is this years version of the nfc west. Giants suck, Redskins are frauds.... and the cowboys are in a similar situation as the eagles-- better then their record says..

if philly can take down washington this week, they will go into the bye only two games out of first, after this terrible start.. that will be the only bright spot for this team

9-7 might make the playoffs in this division, which would mean philly would need to go 7-3 their last 10 games, which is a definite possibility if they can get the braindead errors worked out along with the stupid turnovers.

Wow, some of the posts on this website are mind boggling! Have you seen this team play yet???? Every time you run on this team they give up at least 7 yards a pop. Their front 4 gets pushed around like nobodys buisness, extremely undersized and soft. And their LBs are puss*ys too. They get out-physicaled every single game

phillies have a tough schedule ahead....2 games against dallas, 1 at giants, i against jets, patriots and bears. They might easily lose 3 games here which would put them out of playoffs.

You said it all.....all the skill players in the world don't matter if you get beatdown in the trenches on both sides of the ball! Vick is running for his life every play and Nshabonga (?) is literally stealing money when he's supposed to tackle someone or cover somebody once in a while? They are Over machines atleast!!

even if they actually turn it around they still wont go 8-8, but then again in that division 7-9 might be enough but I doubt they hold any tie breakers.

I have heard a lot of this is the best (pick a losing record here) teams a lot, and there is a reason why they have losing records. Their defense sucks and their Oline is horrible. The only way they can hope to win is to outscore people, and that just aint going to happen with vick at QB.

Theyre actually a lot like the patriots, everyone thinks the pats are awesome, they actually arent that good, their offense is simply good enough to outscore everyone, if they couldnt score Pats would be in the same boat as Philly is right now. But scoring alot and winning hides a lot of glaring problems some teams have.

Unless they resurrect Jim Johnson, it's going to be hard for PHI to make it now as hard as it is for me to admit it. Vick can't overcome how bad the defense is. The game vs WSH is truly do or die for the season and if they lose b/c of defense again Juan Castillo has to be fired immediately.

Their defense is atrocious. More holes than swiss cheese. Juan Castillo is an absolute joke of a defensive coordinator. He was their offensive line coach before Reid made the brilliant move of naming him defensive coordinator.

They can't stop the run, their defensive scheme is so bad it makes Nnamdi Asomugha look like a rookie. He's been burnt more times this one season than in his whole career prior to this combined.

Next week they play the top team in their division with one of the best defenses in the whole league and a good offensive line to boot. They are not beating washington.

Congratulations Andy Reid. You single handedly destroyed the Eagles franchise with your bone-headed moves.

Absolutely true.... if eagles win vs first place wash, they are 2 games back of first with a 2-4 record going into the bye. The redskins then play New England (chalk that up as a loss), so the eagles will only be one game behind wash coming out of the bye, and only a game or two behind dallas and ny, depending what they do....

9-7 gets in this yr in this pitiful division
