i hope so but i doubt it. phillies just kind of got hot here in the last few games and we only get to have carp pitch once for us.

it does help us tremendously tho that we dont have to play the tiebreak game because now we can have jaime garcia pitch at home in game 3 (jaime is an emoitional head case who doesnt pitch good on the road).

i'm sure the line for game 1 (Lohse vs Halladay) will be something like -200 to -250. then game 2 will be Lee vs Edwin Jackson. So we could be looking at an 0-2 deficit right off the bat

If cards get a split in philly they have carp for the pivotal game. Phils are sharp and focused but I see a good series here. A little concerned that the cards went crazy on bubbly. Should have been more low key. Phils might regret letting the cards in thru the backdoor. Leeand doc haven't been that sharp the last little while. Cards have great bats.

Too lazy to write it out but I'll be contributing once the series starts. Biggest reasons is Cards don't have a bona-fide ace. Carpenter is ok, but he's old and has been unreliable. Garcia is a psuedo-ace, I dunno about him. The others are mediocre.

Good defense wins championships. I think the same can be applied to this years WS.

Hilarious stuff here. People have opinions on the series and don't even know it's a 5 game series. To say the Cards have no chance is beyond retarded. Cards have won 16 of 21 and just beat Halladay with Lohse 10 days ago in Philly. The same matchup goes on Saturday, and if you lose the first game, you have to win 3 of 4.

Phillies are gonna be big favorites. But this is October. Let it play out, and don't be surprised if it's a great series.
