no one has actually come out and said how sbr makes money from people going pro. however the top theories are a % based on deposit and/or % based on your loses.

You don't have to be Pro for SBR to make money off of your losses, you just had to sign up at the sportbook through one of their links.
The only way you are going to make money off of SBR is by going Pro.

but why would you sign up through the link if you had no intention of going pro?

Which those of course make no difference if you were going to deposit anyways. If your depositing money, who cares who gets it as long as you get credit for it in your account.
Arguement two is that they are selling your information, which of course again is irrelevant, as the books can do that anyway.
Most people who are anti-pro are wither Tin Foil hatters, ghosts or broke. There are a few execptions due to the the need to sign up with a new book which select few may not wish to do.
As for the reason to go pro, its the points simply. If you dont go pro they are worthless, as you can't get anything other than T shirts.
Not being pro, there is no reason to play poker or contests, which all pay points that will never be worth anything to a non-pro. (which still baffels me why non-pros bother)
As a pro even if you never win a contest, or place in a poker tourney or answer a trivia question correctly SBR gives you at least 4580 points, which will get you $200+ in gift cards, a free pizza every other week, or and IPOD.

being a pro is not for everyone pal. If you don't want to be a pro. Keep your rookie status. Not everyone can handle the pressure of the big leagues

If you ever get into a dispute with a sportsbook you will be glad you used an SBR link.
The Pro program convinces advertisers that the site has a large crowd of potential customers.(many advertisers have been burned advertising on sites that appear busy)
The Pro program is like any loyalty program. If you are going to hang out here anyway it pays.

im goin to first chance i get. been on a bad downswing lately and dont really feel like opening another sportsbook account. will likely play one of the fantasy games sites (even though its not really my cup of tea, hopefully ill get lucky and at least break even). the store is very nice and if you can play the pro only tourneys then you have a real leg up on getting some of the prizes.

If you are an American under the oppressive Federal government, you can also find benefit in using Pro as a quasi-offshore book. I think you can become a Pro by giving to charity now and a few other methods, so you don't have to be linked to an sponsored sportsbook. Essentially, you can make your "deposit" via the charity, then collect your winnings in gift cards or other merchandise (the obvious big difference being your deposit won't be available in full immediately). And you don't have to worry about bottoming out and reloading, because you get 12 points every day just by showing up, and a chance at another 250 each week in Trivia. Plus we get Christmas bonuses and other special points add-ons.
I don't know if the new updated Pro program is spelled out anywhere or not, but you'd be unwise to not at least look into it. It certainly isn't for everyone but to many people it is a huge benefit.

what is so great and exclusive about "pro" when they allow vagrants, stiffs and broke losers lilke this clown to join?

dumpster diving is the best, I found a very nice humidor and 4 nice kitchen chairs a few weeks ago outside a dumpster near house. I live in auburn, so all these spoiled kids with mom and dad paying for everything will just set anything out, and I am reaping all the benefits.
kick them out and i'll consider joining.

I do what jjgold does here since I joined. He is my mentor and guardian angel from the books. So if jjgold isn't a Pro there is no need for me to be one. I follow my leader here.

the real question is who can convince you NOT to go pro. it's $200 you are going to spend anyway.. does your local guarantee you $200+ of swag just for using him as an out?

The better question is why not go SBRpro sir.
If your a recreational type player then their really absolutely no reason not to become one. That is if you like getting free perks.

Just got my pro membership declined. Not sure why deposited 200 bucks into 5 dimes on Friday the 10th. Made my first bet at 6:20 west coast time. Sent in my pro application and got a pm confirming this at 5:43 west coast time. Course i get mail in my inbox saying i never made a deposit.
