My boss asked me to shave today because of "company policy"
Anyone think that is bullshit?
I cant get fired for this right? isn't that illegal?

Depends on if it's really company policy. Ask to see it.

when you were hired i'm sure you agreed to the company's dress code....so yes, you should shave
and no, it definitely isn't illegal for him to tell you to shave if it is company policy
and you could get fired if you don't just for disobeying your boss.

If you are replaceable, then I would suggest you follow your boss's wishes.
I do contract work, so the people who hire me, have never met me. I show up to work sites in kakhis, a polo, full beard, and Jordans.

Well if the New York Yankees can enforce it, I'm pretty sure your boss can enforce it as well.
To answer your question, yes, grooming can be part of the company dress code so he is within his right to ask this of you and yes he can terminate you if you don't comply.

I think it's OK. Your appearance may affect business performance. What type of job do you have?
I worked at Sears one time that was in a town with a large military base. They asked me not to wear my earings to work because the military people and older people did not like that kind of stuff. They never threatened to fire me and I understood their point of view so I took out my piercings before work. no biggie, just put them back in before getting my dikk sucked by the boss's daughter

Im not even trying to grow a beard, I just got lazy for a few days
I thought it was outrageous that I was basically told that I had to shave.
What if it was for religious reasons?

Facial hair if trimmed and groomed looks good. Only certain guys can rock it right.

This sounds like a concept for an Sienfeld episode. Constanza would find a way to keep his beard, even if he did not like having a beard.

Good stuff here, Cappy.
I remember in chat you told us a similar story regarding admins problem with your obvious fondness of wearing a sheer thong under your scrubs, as well as you not being allowed to show your tramp stamp tattoo.

I guess we have different views pal.
I think people who shave all their hair off look.. a bit odd.
But I don't judge anyone.
I enjoy my facial hair.

My view was a joke, pal.
My only problem with facial hair is that I still can't grow a beard at 40 fukkin' years old. By this age I can grow plenty of back, and even some lovely fukkin' EAR hair......but certainly not a beard!!

Beards can be great when it comes to changing your look. But n the flipside they are annoying as **** keeping trimmed, and looking professional. Adds at least 15 more minutes to my morning.

I grew a beard for 2 straight weeks not long ago. Never even trimmed or shaved at all. Only comment I received after TWO FULL WEEKS of growing a damn Grizzly Adams beard was that I should get some milk and have a cat lick that sh*t off of my face.
Really stung. Shaved it that night.

I got let go from the highest paid and most relaxing job I ever had because the boss lied to me about a couple of deadlines. Told me I had to get something done by Monday and then got rid of me on the Friday before for not having it done. I cherished my job there and was an exceptional worker and sadly haven't even been able to find a job since. Bosses can do whatever the fukk they want. They don't fukking need you. They can find 20 other dogs who are willing to shave their balls and fukking asshair for your position.

I just thought if all the female nurses could wear thongs they'd be ok if I wore mine. I think if I would have showed them that it was a JJgold thong they would have let it slide. But you're right, L7's

depends on the kind of job you have....if your job requires you to meet lot people, then you have to shave. If you are in front of computer all day, it doesn't matter and doesn't make sense.
