They cant. The US Open is a non profit organization. If they put a roof on the stadium, that makes it a venue (for basketball, concerts...etc.). It would no longer be a non profit organization.

This is false from what I've heard/read. Apparently it just comes down to the USTA not wanting to shell out more $$ on a stadium that is only used a couple weeks out of the year. They just spent a fortune to build Arther Ashe not long ago.

i highly doubt your online books will cancel your bets even if you request them to do-so. we'll just have to wait i suppose. not cool.

Most books have specific rules regarding matches delayed or cancelled due to rain. 5Dimes for instance holds all bets once they have been made and they remain pending until the match is completed. For example for me, I booked Isner yesterday morning and it is pending until they play.

I made a thread regarding this prior to the US Open. #1 thing bettors need to know if their rules regarding a sport. Most people who bet Grand Slams likely do not bet tennis the rest of the year. Still boggles my mind that people don't read the rules before placing bets. Not to mention checking weather info before placing bets. Easy way to avoid having money tied up.

Right now, all men's are moved to tomorrow. Men's QF's (Serbian match, and Federer-Tsonga) may be moved to Friday. All women's QFs are going to try to get in tonight. They have the squeegees out.

Yeah, I also don't like it when the men have to play three or four straight days of five setters. Which looks to be the case if they want it on Sunday. Starts to really favour the fast servers that play short points: Roddick and Isner. Roddick's sole win was when he played 3 straight days and Ferrero played 4 straight. Obviously they're all in great shape, but I want to see high quality tennis with long points.
