Pitt has multiple injuries but the ankle of Roethlisburger is the biggest. We have seen his lack of mobility has really slowed down this offense. He admitted that his ankle is worse than it was before the Cleveland game. Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil are sure to supply constant pressure. Pittsburgh's last 3 road games they scored 13 vs the Palko led Chiefs, 3 at SF, and 13 at Cleveland. They are averaging under 16 points for all road games. Pitt is averaging 27 yds per point which is 29th in the league. Overall, the Broncos have had the most trouble with high scoring teams and Pitt is not one on the road. The Steelers also have the fewest takeaways in the league and have the 4th most turnovers. Denver has the 3rd ranked home rushing offense and the Steelers have the 13th ranked road rushing D.

Neither of these teams have a very good strength of schedule. It should be noted that Ark St's only 2 losses were to Virginia Tech and Illinois. N. Ill must be able to run the ball and Ark St has the 16th ranked run defense. The MAC was 2-12-1 ATS since '08 coming into this bowl season. I don't like the fact that Hugh Freeze won't be coach Ark St but I am backing the team with the much better defense.

An interesting fact is that LSU had double digit wins over the Orange, Rose, Chick-fil-a, Gator Bowl champs, and the Cotton Bowl champs. They had victories over teams that were ranked 3,25,16,17,19,2,3,& 12. Alabama had victories over 23,14,12.
Oddsmakers gave Bama a homefield advantage of anywhere from 4-6 points and they were beaten by 3. In that game Michael Ford ripped off a 15 yd run in OT that could have easily made it 12-3 but he stepped out of bounds unforced.
In the last game, Alabama drove it inside the LSU 25 yd line 1 time.
LSU had to kick a fg on the Bama 2 yd line on 3rd down before the half because they were running out of time.
Alabama never gained more than 1 yard inside the LSU 30 yd line.

Sure Alabama missed 3 fgs but that is part of the game and Saban's fault for not recruiting better kickers.
The biggest edge in this game is LSU's special teams and ability to create turnovers.
Saban is perceived to be the better coach but his bowl record is 6-6 straight up and ATS.
Les Miles is 6-3 including 5-2-2 ATS.
Saban's teams tend to play tight where Miles' teams play more loose. This is true of their practices as well as I have been to both on several occasions.
LSU is tough inside the 20 because of the ability of their DBs in a constricted area.
LSU has the more dynamic playmakers on both sides of the ball as well.
I'm not sure how Saban has prepared his team for this one but I have a former player that starts for LSU and he said their practices have been tough and their was alot of contact in the prep.
Much has been made of the revenge factor for Alabama. Bama OL Barrett Jones made the cocky statement that it was more about "restoring order". We haven't heard much out of LSU's players.
Les Miles has been busy making his team sick of all the talking heads on tv picking Alabama and hearing how they "should" have one. After watching this kind of stuff, you tell me who will be more motivated.
