c) realist. i love watching nadal but his style of game does not lend itself to longevity. in 09 at the ripe age of 22 going on 23, he lost in the 4th round due to the knees, skipped wimbledon, lost in the us open quarters or semis, and then had to retire in australia while getting pounded by andy murray, due to the knees.

Do you mean the 2010 Australian Open? He won in 2009, at the age of 22. He retired against Murray at 23.

He's made the semis in his last two US Opens.

For the record, I don't think Nadal will pass Federer in terms of majors won.

he faced becker, edberg, lendl, on their decline. only real challenger to sampras was agassi. i dont think they were that much better back then. tennis always has a bunch of guys in the top 10 can win on any given day. see djoko in aussie 08, del potro in us open 09, and plenty more to come
