#142I hope you are right Wheel but I am afraid that FED just does not have it today.
Fed ended Nadal's impressive clay court winning streak last year and I think Nadal is returning the favor. Nice call with Nadal....Comment -

#144Eh, Federer is now (should he lose) still the 2nd best player in the world, plus with his Wimbledon pedigree he should have enough stomach to hold on this set and at least make it more respectable.Originally posted by TevezNadal is +180 to win 3 / 0 this match

#145I believe that if they switched teams 10 years ago the Patriots would have 5 titles. I don't believe Brady is more clutch than Manning.Originally posted by crazylI think certain athletes are wired differently and more clutch than others for sure. Compare Tom Brady to Peyton Manning for instance. All these pros, tennis included, can hit the easy shots, can do fundamental things well, but not all can do them under extreme pressure to win or ho home. Especially at this stage.Comment -

#146Federer was overrated today (no way shoud he have been favourite), and he will be underrated after it. Nadal still has shown very little on hard courts (one Aussie Open semi, none at the US). Djokovic? Won the Aussie Open, but Federer was clearly unwell there. I'm still not convinced by him, he's too much of a baseline basher, really isn't very good on grass yet, and is too predictable in a lot of ways.
Federer is the US Open favourite, and should be more comfortably so than he was the Wimbledon favourite.Comment -

#147I don't believe in players performing above norm in clutch situations, but I do believe they can underperform in those situations. They start thinking too much instead of just letting the game come to them and they do stupid things. You can't say nerves aren't atleast a tiny part of the game IMO.Originally posted by WheellDo you believe in clutch hitting? I don't so I expect Federer is slightly more likely to break Nadal than vice versa right now.
Anyways, I still haven't lost hope. I wouldn't be overly surprised to see Fed come back and win this, although obviously Nadal is the big favourite at this point.Comment -

#148I guess a guy can win Wimbledon 5 years in a row, have a stranglehold over world #1 ranking, and still be dogged in the finals then? All because why, the "Clay King" has gotten the better of him on his favorite surface? Remove all clay meetings from their H2H history and tell me who leads.Originally posted by HeeeHAWWWWFederer was overrated today (no way shoud he have been favourite),Comment -

#153Imo, yes. Federer is clearly not the player he was, whether as an after-effect of glandular fever or gradual technical failures due to lack of a coach. Meanwhile, Nadal is the 2nd best on grass for a couple of years now, and a much better player than last year.Originally posted by crazylI guess a guy can win Wimbledon 5 years in a row, have a stranglehold over world #1 ranking, and still be dogged in the finals then?
It was always going to be close, and I wasn't saying Nadal was a massive favourite (marginal at best), but if you watched all Nadal's matches at Queens then it was clear he'd stepped up a level this year. That was his best ever grass court movement, flat hitting, serving. Today's match is showing that out.Comment -
