    Seriously, that is the only time rooting against your friend is acceptable. There are some sick individuals in this place. I have a friend who is the worst, when I tell him what side I'm on and it loses dude tells everybody about it and how I had this much $ on it. No gambling etiquette, I do my best to not tell him my plays.

    Everyone should root for the books to lose, never your friends.

      I believe that your definition of friend is different than mine. I might cheer for a cocky prick acquaintance to lose, but I would never be happy to see a friend lose at anything, unless he was playing against me. As a friend you have to deal with their shit when they are depressed. I prefer my friends to be happy and winning and enjoying their lives as opposed to pissed off and depressed.
