You've been yet to be proven right considering there are a ton of books still operating.

All these moves are for legal reasons. The owners are covering their asses.

MMGG purchased the Bodog.com operations in late 2006, shortly after the UIGEA was passed. MMGG also licensed the bodog brand name, but it was a separate deal from the actual purchase of the operations- this means MMGG will continue to operate using the same software, they just no longer have use of the Bodog brand name after 2011.

all we need is people to start cashing out enmasse and ******* up the fast payments bodog has been giving out lately cuz of complete unnecessary panic. im not happy about the news but the world isnt ending either. ive already been on there and been cautious with my money, as everyone should at every book these days, no need to change that.

many saying its a mere name change, but i think it sends a message. when many were saying bodog would be the solid rock and now its not there, it does strike uncertainty. I have been a fan of online bookmaking and its ease and availability. but the way things are going, locals seem to be the future. i wonder if local gov'ts will start cracking down again like they did in the 80's. i expect to see many new locals popping up in the near future.

the fact that mmgg will no longer be bodog is a big deal. many casual players will think bodogs outa business, while in truth itll be just like ladbrokes, william hill, other euro outlets. if mmgg does this change properly, then everything will be just fine.

agree, glad we know ahead of time, if we were hearing this on december 30th then maybe it would be more suspicious.

In response to the above and post #15 (http://forum.sbrforum.com/players-ta...l#post10845603), this is just not possible. Bodog.eu (formerly bodog.com) is under all the same restrictions on freedom of eCom as any other operator and third party processors also have access to information on any cards used…but for the record, most card holders do not remember exactly where they used their cards so its not exactly a certainty that any other charges come from a bodog related transaction. Bodog for sure is not charging boots on customer cards.

Bodog is one of the most respected brands in the online gaming world, a big reason why Bodog UK was the first to be awarded a UK Gaming license under the new rules. The UK is the most respected online gaming license in the world, nothing else is even close.

No, local gov's don't crack down because most of the people in local gov gamble. Jeez, the best bookies are actually protected by the cops. As long as bookies keep a low profile, they almost never have anything to worry about.
