And do you realise why I keep stressing to look at the top of the page? While I don't even necessarily agree with the theory that the majority of int'l posters cash out from offshore books, offshore books aren't the only sponsors here. Just because the more savvy int'l gamblers may be the ones to deposit in CR, there are obviously many, many more less savvy gamblers who will deposit with books considered local to them ie Willy Hill, 888sport, ladbrokes, etc... Those books are major SBR sponsors, are notorious for booting/limiting you as soon as they deem you "sharp" and don't take Americans. The same scenario would apply if you think about the US gamblers who find a way to bet in UK, Asian or Aussie books. Of course the majority of them are going to be a more experienced gambler. Why would they go through the hassle if not? Unless it's a situation like here in Australia where online casinos aren't legal and our books offer crappy bonuses, most novice gamblers who just want to bet on the Sunday footy match aren't going to venture offshore. But those people could still be losing at SBR sponsors. Just not the same ones as your fellow citizens. That's what I think some people are forgetting.

The facts are that SBR showed that they either do not have much power or don't care about there customers by not giving any heads up on this coming. What could SBR have done if the Greek did not want to stay in the business by keeping there non USA customers? Not a thing. Spiro and Scotty would have simply bolted with everyones money if they did not want to stay in the non USA market with the Greek and there was nothing SBR or anyone else could have done. Any USA customer that ever deposits offshore again is a complete fool. There is noone fighting for you. I'm only asking you this question because I'm still up at 5am watching my tennis bets and an interesting discussion is more appealing to me than the crap I'm streaming online so just take it for what it's worth: Do you think that the majority of SBR posters hold it against SBR that they weren't able to give them warning about this situation? Or do you think that the majority of those affected have/are in the process of transferring their accounts, are grateful and pleased after finding out it's a smooth process and they can withdraw their money today for free if they so choose? And the second part to that: If you really believe Spiro and Scotty would've bolted if they decided to turn their back on non US players, what do you think any online forum could do to rectify the situation (regardless of the industry) if one of the pillars in that industry decided that they were going to exit and not refund their customers cash? If ebay or apple decided to close up shop tomorrow and not pay anyone out do you think that any one of the thousands of tech forums or those devoted to online businesses would be able to influence them to change their mind?

I was born in Canada, have American citizenship, lived in the US for several years and have lived outside of North America for several years after that. Sorry Cooch, missed this one. I didn't get the memo that SBR had indicated that they knew this was happening long beforehand so if I've missed that post (which I very well could have) please let me know. The only mention I've seen of it at all was from Loshak saying he'd heard a rumour on the Thursday night CR time. I've been more forthright during my time as a Mod than I probably should have (considering the drama I always seem to cause) about things I'm told and how I feel about many topics - if SBR knew about this and sat on it, I had no knowledge of it. No point in me starting to bullshit now.

Ah, I figured you were either just getting home from a big night or were sick. Now's the time for it - a lot of my friends and/or their kids are walking germ and snot infestations so I'm trying to limit what we do out of the house which kind of sucks. Straight shots of vodka will clear you up. Dr recommended when I first stepped off the plane when moving here. Immediately went out to a friend's beach house the minute we landed and somehow contracted a nasty virus. Yeah and I get that part but I really just wonder if anyone at SBR knew much of anything. When I think about it logically, would you tell someone at a forum of your plans to exit the market? Would you even tell the majority of your employees until the deal was done knowing how small the industry is and how people talk? SBR isn't some rinky dink site with a few members. Obviously Spiro and Scotty would've wanted to protect a run on their accounts before handing them over so I'm not sure that being forthright with info would've been their #1 priority. Like I said, if people at SBR knew ages beforehand then so be it but I just don't see the logic in why Spiro or Scotty would ever say a word. Too much risk involved no matter how much you trust a person. And then if that trust was there and they told John/Dozer etc... would we expect they'd break that trust and damage the relationship to tell us when no one would be harmed financially anyway? Tough call in my opinion.
